This conversation is over 20 years old and still so relevant today if not more with Charlie Rose's current string of allegations and sexual misconduct. Fascinating conversation - and a fascinating book, Disclosure!

Considering the events of the past 5 years, this could not be more relevant. There is no way this would get published. Just found a hard cover copy at a thrift store in great shape. Can’t wait to read.

In the interview about NEXT and STATE OF FEAR he said 'I didn't want to write it because I thought I would be killed for it, but I did because I didn't want be a coward.' I FREAKED OUT. He worked with known associates of the CIA as a Dr. Considering they invented a cancer gun I now definitely say he was murdered.

@@burnsloads I agree. I’ve read that his physicians were sure he would survive treatment for lymphoma, but Crichton died suddenly. He was murdered by the deep state corporatocracies for State of Fear. .

I read the book years ago, then saw the movie, years ago. I loved BOTH, they were very close to spot on, I was delighted! But, I LOVED the computer war aspect of the novel, not the sexual harassment, that just added intrigue to the story in my opinion. The corporate competition, race to be best, fit the times, and as a bonus, took place in Seattle, another aspect I really loved! Great story overall, I hope others read/watch it! :)

In the beginning when Rose says Crichton was the NYTimes #1 Best-Seller for Disclosure beginning that Sunday, he would be come the first and to-date ONLY person in history to have the #1 Novel, TV show (ER) and film (Still Jurassic Park) at the same time. He would accomplish the feat one other time in his career.

Charlie Rose is one of my fave interviewers and Crichton was one of his best subjects. They were so great together and you could see they genuinely had an affinity. This episode is so ironic in retrospect because Rose was caught up in a #metoo scandal years after this. He survived it career-wise and I believe still works today albeit under a male and female team of watch dogs who co-host with him under binding terms of return to employment.

Katherine @DC... It's technically neither Male or Female. Correct. It's a type of Hybrid Queen, to use that analogy. There isn't one like it, and probably won't be another like it for a long time. It can mix all types of species, not just dogs. If you want to be more specific, it's origin is from above, not below. On the issue with the one that I love that shall remain nameless, because I love her and don't want to cause more pain than what I already feel. Yes, I'm half human. I actually feel. I care. Sentiment. Empathy. Mercy. So on, not just anger. I'm beyond upset at her enslavement. They rape her to throw her away like trash. Fuck them. Their salaries, all of it, it's no longer justified. Big change is coming, I assure you. -Christopher Edward
