Skavenblight in the lore is the actual capital of the entire skaven race. Where the clan lords reunite and scheme.

On top of that, it’s theorized that it’s where the very first Skaven were born/created. Sort of the birthplace of Skaven, and in many ways it’s as significant as Ulthuan is for the HE.

They need more under city style mechanics really, because yeah spying and the like is super cool, and that bomb is amazing. But the Vampire Coast being able to not just build Coves but also build armies outside their own territory I think gives them enough benefits to make up for it.

Lore wise Skaven tech is known to regularly explode. Skavenblight was basically nuked once by the Skaven themselves and nearly drove them extinct.

When you're not expanding the Under Empire with the Warlock Engineer, you may as well use the Steal Technology operation. You get a warp fuel for a success and -20% off your research, which stacks with Ikit's bonus +20% to research. It gets a bit out of hand between 3 turn top end research, Under Empires, and the Forbidden Workshop...

Well.... It's important to note that this is the single player campaign. No matter who exactly you play you will eventually be able to put something together that's just stupidly broken. If you play someone else the Skaven AI won't be quite as ridiculous and you can always improve your chances of discovering those under-cities with heros and buildings.

@@zuriel6612 First of all, the vast majority of multipayer comes down to custom battles, meaning both players have a limited amount of ressources and use them to put together an army to hopefully defeat what the other player has brought. There are also vs campaigns and for those I'd like to point out that the Doom Sphere has a very high discoverability meaning that all you need is a certain building and a hero or two and it's almost impossible for the skaven player to get away with building the bomb.

I NEVER understood the whole "Skaven were a myth" bit. Did anyone say Orcs and Goblins were a myth? Or Beastmen, or Lizardmen? It was the Warhammer world, for Sigmar's sake! Maneating ogres could be hired as mercenaries, the city of Middenheim had a cannon so large they needed a giant to operate it and literal armies of the damned marched out of a literal Hellmouth at the north pole to destroy the world. One nice thing you can say about the Age of Sigmar, nobody seems to have trouble wrapping their heads around the concept of rat-like beastmen, as opposed to all the other kinds of beastmen running around...

The reason the Empire claims the Skaven are a myth is because they're in a very tenuous position. They're fending off beastmen from the forests, Norscans from the north, Orks from the south, Vampires from the east, and chaos from wherever they feel like popping up, on top of occasional skirmishes with Brettonia, kislev, or the border princes and sometimes the dwarfs if they get pissed off about something. If on top of all that, people knew there were millions of ratmen under every city, they would riot. If the skaven thought the Empire knew, they would attack in order to have the element of surprise and the Empire doesn't have the troops to spare for that. Basically, if they acknowledge the skaven exist, they'll be spread so thing the Empire will collapse.

Well.... Two things. 1: It is not really possible to deny the existence of Greenskins or Beastmen because they have no intention to remain hidden. The Skaven on the other hand try their best to not get discovered by the man-things above. 2: The Skaven spend a lot of time spying on the empire and they are extremely balls to the wall paranoid about being dicovered. If they were to ever unite they would easily be the most dangerous and powerful faction in the Warhammer world and paranoid as they are they would interpret any acknowledgement of their existence from the empire as a sign that mankind is preparing to attack them and that would just be enough to temporarily make them unite and launch a pre-emptive strike. You don't really want billions of rat people and monsters, partially equipped with some of the most advanced technology in the world to attack you if all you need to do to prevent it is flatly denying their very existence and threatening anyone who dare say otherwise.
