@@charliemccartney7055 We had the strangest experience. In driving snow and no great visibility we reached the trig point and found a set of tracks coming from the edge and arriving at the trig point but none at all going in any other direction. Just those leading to it - and fresh too. Stayed many times in Strathfarrar and have always wanted to go back and climb this hill again but I doubt that will happen now.

We once camped down in the Glen below the lodge, planning on staying 2 nights to climb the surrounding hills. It was part of a six day crossing from Torridon to Kintail. After the first night we climbed the same hills as you have here, and after returning to our tents we decided to move camp to the Bealach Bearnais, as we had suffered badly with the midges. After evening meal we packed up and moved and set up the tents in the new location. We gained nothing! The midges were just as bad, if not worse! That said, even the wee beasties could not detract from the beautiful surroundings we found ourselves travelling through. Thanks for sharing.

@@charliemccartney7055 I did Cheesecake and the Big Shin from the other side, and have to say it was tough on the feet. All great fun.... Cheers.

Yeah that’s a big day out, respect. I tried to climb them last May but was thwarted by torrential rain, couldn’t get across the river - tried the rope bridge but retreated quickly, if I’d have fallen in the river it would have swept me away.

Hi 2112Tix, That river can certainly be a problem after heavy rain and a challenge to get across. Your right to retreat and leave it for another day as the thought of falling in is scary and not worth the chance. Cheers, Charlie

That just looks to be such a wild remote area. It looks really fantastic. Whilst the Munro’s don’t look too intimidating those crags on the third Munro with their snow covering look awesome.
