So, Canada is richer than Qatar and Finland together?! I swear I heard Qatar was the richest country in the world, though maybe it's by GDP and not in absolute numbers.

Yes, let me explain. :D Each province's GDP equals to that of those countries. So the specific province has a similar GDP to that particular country. Qatar is a rich country due to oil and the royal families are very rich, but the people not so much.
