Thank you, thank you!! I'd imagine y'all don't eat much cornbread over there. It's a staple here. We eat lots of cornbread and biscuits in the south. Hopefully you have more luck with this than the biscuits! :)

@@RobynOnTheFarm I know you do! Yes I need all the luck I can get! ☺️No it's non existent.. Maybe it's only eaten in America. I wouldn't mind you showing how to make "regular" simple cornbread as well.

I think the natives Americans showed the pilgrims and early colonists how to make a basic cornbread-so it must be an American thing! I’ll be sure to share a recipe for traditional cornbread, too. It’s so easy it’s worth trying. I’d be interested to see what you think about it since you’ve never had it! I’m not sure what I would think about it if I wasn’t raised on it! I hope all is well way over there!

@@RobynOnTheFarm that would be awesome! It turned out great. But it did not look like yours at all not the same color or texture. It was more like cake batter. Will try to find better corn meal.

you made it! That’s awesome. There is white cornmeal and yellow cornmeal, I used yellow and probably failed to mention that, maybe yours was white. It should have worked similarly. It is somewhat cake like in texture. Thanks for trying this recipe!

I’ve never tried maple cornbread, I’ve tried honey cornbread. I love real maple syrup so this is up my alley! Thanks!

Hi Liza! It’s a little different with the maple and I just love it! Are things improving up in your neck of the woods at all???

@@RobynOnTheFarm we’re fine but so many areas can’t be reached without a helicopter and they have finally let the military fly in helicopters just this evening. So many people still missing. So many roads are washed out and they can’t be reached other than by helicopter. They need the federal government to help in all the states that have been devastated and time is running out.

Thank you so much! It really is great. The maple flavoring is amazing in it!

Good lookin' corn bread, Robyn. I make mine with BRM whole wheat pastry flour. It really complements the corn meal and makes a great nutty tasting corn bread. I will try the maple syrup next time too. Thanks for the idea. 😊

Thank you Pattiann! The maple really adds something special to the cornbread. I might have to try it with fresh milled whole wheat flour to be similar to yours, that sounds great! Thank you for the inspiration!

I’m now looking at the videos I hadn’t seen! Yum! This looks so good, I just want to make everything. May I ask why you preheated the pan in the oven? I love learning from you. I pray your channel grows and grows! You’re authentic. 🥰🇺🇸

I am so happy you’re going back through my old videos! Thank you for doing that. Cast iron retains heat very well, but doesn’t conduct it quickly, so typically for recipes that are baked quickly at high heat, this helps them bake more evenly and quickly, and not stick. Some recipes work better with the cast iron pre-heated, like biscuits, cornbreads, pizzas, and Dutch oven breads. But really…that’s just the traditional way grandma did it! 💚
