My theory about Dragon Types is that, originally, Gyrados was the final Evolution of the Dratini family; and he was a Dragon/Water type. And Dragonite was Magikarps evolution, because of that myth about carp leaping over a mountain and all that jazz. The reason things were changed was because Water/Dragon would've been too powerful in Gen 1. Ice would've hit neutral, and Dragon Rage wouldn't have been a strong enough move to take Gyarados down. So at the last minute they realized they'd effed up and simply decided to switch the two around and change Gyarados's type. This aligns with Gyarados having 0 flying moves, and Dragonite looking like some black sheep. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

Normally, I can't watch nuzlockes. I am extremely empathetic, and seeing people's beloved pokemon die can make me feel overwhelmed. But your personality, and the way you give your pokemon personalities and such is so wholesome and endearing it makes it very much worth it. Even when it hurts to witness tragic casualties.
