During the pandemia, I add to my 06 9-3 SS an extra intercooler. I used a factory intercooler from a junk yard, found space in front of the ac panel. I modified the steering oil cooler line shortening, taking to a welder and adding a cooler radiator. Then to interconnect both intercoolers in tandem I use some plumber 2-1/2" PVC 90 degrees and "T" fittings and residual pieces of intercooler hoses. Final results are a lower intake temperature and better acceleration.

I was recently thinking about getting another 9-5 Aero here in the UK, but given the weather here, a good one is hard to find, particularly the 04/05 shark nose front bumper variant. @@AutoAutopsy oh yeah, my daily driver's a stick shift. Most people in UK prefer a stick shift as their daily driver.
@joshramsey14053 жыл бұрын
Although a manual gives the impression of better acceleration it is rarely the case. An auto car with compairable specs will always accelerate faster then a stick it boils down to efficiency. An auto trans shifts faster and more efficient than your average driver ( most drivers if not all drivers ) I know it does not feel that way but that is mainly because the torque curve is different, and on top of shifting quicker on average auto cars tend to have a bit higher torque then their manual co part, just takes a little longer to reach their peak on the tourqe curve. Also more times then not and forsure with ng9-3's the auto can handle far more torque then a stick, the auto is good up to about 500nm stock, where as on the stick your clutch is pissed at anything over 350nm, and will not make it very long on a stock clutch. If you want anywhere near 500nm in a ng9-3 your going to need a nice stage 3 clutch, and even then your avreage driver dosent shift properly to begin with and will still burn up clutches like crazy at those numbers.

yes brew city boost stopped tuning. You should buy from Swedish Motorsports to support a small, US based business who will offer you support stateside .

Stage 1: only need the tune and K&N air filter, brings it up to 210 which is the tune of the big T, b.k.a. Aero or Arc.

Would you be able to run regular 89 or it’s recommended to run 91 -93 gas
@znorc3 жыл бұрын
It's optimised to run on 93 octane fuel. You will lose some performance on 91 and even more on 89. If you consistently run lower octane fuel and have no intention of getting 93, you can ask Maptun for a tune optimised for lower octane ratings. It won't really give you any extra performance but it will be more consistent because the ECU won't try to increase performance beyond the capabilities of 91 octane.
@AutoAutopsy3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, definitely run 91 or 93 if you're tuning or modifying the car. I would run 91 or 93 if it's stock too, tbh

Very nice :) i always like the 4cyl better then the v6 call me wierd .. Just feels better to me.
@nolanpratt42913 жыл бұрын
I totally agree. I’ve owned 93s with both, while the V6 does have a nice kick it just doesn’t seem as refined overall as the 2.0T 207R. With the V6, the whole car feels heavier and not nearly as nimble, plus maintenance is more involved and the V6 runs annoyingly hot. I’ve never really seriously wanted for more than the stock 210 HP tune. Living with hot muggy summers in SW Ontario I think I would be more inclined towards investing in a DO88 intercooler before upping the tune. Bare in mind this is the opinion of a 51 year old guy who doesn’t drive like he stole it.

@@nuttycommuter3718Would love to know if you feel the difference. I’ve just learned on really hot days to not cut left turns too tight from a standing stop in an intersection. Definitely left my heart in my throat a couple times early on! I’ve never really noticed a serious short coming on the highway on hot days with the turbo already spooled up. Still I have to think the intercooler upgrade would be the most noticeable hardware improvement. I don’t really launch my 93 like a teenager anyway. Stock it’s already fast enough to get impounded. If you think of it come back and drop a comment!
@nuttycommuter37183 жыл бұрын
