You're right, but most of the songs since 2000 are written in english so the probability is higher that you'll find the winner song among them. Furthermore lot of non-english song are not that modern as Maria's song ;)

I think the dancers cursed her when they decided not to use them in Vienna...she is a fantastic singer in ALL other clips I see here (Dancing in the Storm) but did not have it at all in the semi-finals (nerves/too much practicing)....she was so cute though! ;-)

I actually don't like this song , to darned repetitive, the chorus being to large a slice of it - but the voice, what a voice and such a small body carrying all of that :) Wove really. That's really it - her remarkable voice. Maybe that shall be enough. But I'm certain of one thing - we'll be seeing her again. No matter how this ultimately ends in Vienna. She's a star material :)

It's great! But I prefer Icelandic version, even if I can't understand any single word! Icelandic sounds so mystic and makes the song different from the other... I don't know why every country has to sing in english when it's just the official language of three countries (UK, Ireland and Malta). When the song it's good, there's no need to sing in english to transmit anything, the song transmits sth but itself, and that's what happened to me with this song when I listened first time in Icelandic. Now it's just another song.

Love the song, really like her voice but the staging and choreography need a lot work. The "interpretive dance" just doesn't work and will turn people off. This has potential to do well, let's hope they change how it looks on stage

The change in lyrics ("one step at a time") results in a rhythmical change which dies not fit the song. It greatly reduces the potential. Additionally, the song should be performed in Icelandic- the phonetics of the Icelandic version enhances the articulation of the melody, while this version sacrifices musical communication for linguistic communication. Hope they change back to Icelandic before the finals, it would be fun to have ESC happen in Iceland in 2016.

The song is nice, and her voice is so beautiful! But, the dancers...? The choreography? I really hope they change it. The dancers have many good qualities I can see, but it does not fit as it is now (I think). It looks like the dancers have created the choreography themselves - tip: get a professional choreographer. This is Eurovision, not an amateur concert.... But that said, I like the song and have faith in it! :-)
