I just recently finished my 5.3*.6 everything second hand 6700h($900), two Outlaw 7000x ($1200), and Emotiva XPA-3 ($600) playing through Klipsch Gen 1 RP and I’m more than impressed. I’ve mainly been in 2 channel and car audio for the last 25 yrs so I’m let down by the setup’s ability to play music but that what I have other systems for. For the cost there’s no way a system 10x the cost would be a worth while upgrade and to preface when I was in the research stage I viewed several setups that cost $100k-$250k. So I say hold your money… Eat your cake and have it too.

I got the Marantz Cinema 50 factory refurbished from Accessories4less with a 5 year warranty for $1399.00. I saved a bunch of money, and my wife is happy with its looks in the living room.

Separate amplificaion - more power AND lasts forever (Well, quite a long time). I went Pre-Pro many many years ago and never looked back. I have upgraded my Pre-Pro three times before ever upgrading my Amplificaion. Separates (IMO) is the way to go (except maybe for a bedroom, garage, etc. where a Receiver may be just fine). Nothing beats the power and headroom of separate amplificaion, which is sooooo cheap nowadays (Emotiva, ToneWinner, Outlaw, Monolith). Cutting over can be tough, but once you do you'll never regret having done so... Sorry, AVRs (even $4000+) cannot hold a candle to separate amplificaion! Pre-Pro - Emotiva (MC1 or better still XMC-2) and ToneWinner (AT-300)..., or for quite a bit more coin but is now you moving into the Big Leagues the Monolith Monoprice HTP-1.

I purchased the Tonewinner AT 300 3 years ago. I also purchased The Tonewinner 7 channel amplifier. This setup up is quite impressive considering the fact that I use to own a Denon AVR. However The Tonewinner At-300's room correction is not quite up to par in my opinion. Although it is infinity adjustable so after a while I was able to make my own corrections. This isn't to say that it was a simple task but I'm very that I found the patience for it. My purchased was made from Summit Hifi based on KZbinr's Spec of Techs recommendations. I plan on buying one of Summit Hifi's in house amplifiers for use with a set of in ceiling speakers. I feel as though Tonewinner as an Hifi company is drastically underrated.

I have a 6012, powering 7 chan previously, 2 being 6ohm uf51. I recently got a basx a3, and it made me realize I was chronically underpowering my speakers before. I think with 7.1.4 (im switching to) 8/9 with marantz and then lcr external will be perfect. Really the biggest difference is for music.

The marantz sr6015 do have 9 channels with 11 channels of processing. I have a basX3 for the LCR and also use the ac infinity fan for cooling.

The denon pulls 750w max power from the wall, and the cinema 50 pulls 680w, not a whole lot of headroom left for 2 extra channels but it’s almost there

I have ToneWinner At-300 and ToneWinner Ad-8300pa running 7.2.4 much better than the AVR you mentioned here .

I think denon is the best alternative... That pre doesn't do vrr allm, which to me is the selling point of the 50.

Bought 2 years ago the SR6015 with 3yrs extra warranty for just 40 euro. So I paid 1240 euro - I like the cinema design but it’s hide in a low board so it doesn’t make any sense either. Plus the optical fitting fan from AC in the SR design. If I would have more gaming consoles with 8k output I could use a automatic switch for a few euro. I do it similar for older consoles already because I like to have them at one input channel. No need for several 8k inputs. Now we have also audyssey one - who cares about Dirac and more costs then? The only thing I don’t have is auro but my environment is tricky - I can’t setup it how it should be… The biggest handicap is just myself not to want it anyway 😂 but it won’t make sense tbh

Yeah throw in a OSD Nero 7 multichannel and MagicBeans TruTarget to fix the PEQ. Tonewinner wins. You spend your money on your speakers and front-wides and amplifiers.

Personally speaking I have avoided tonewinner/iota/emotiva processors due to comments from YT and forum posts regarding HDMI handshake issues. Maybe it’s all overblown….

If your just doing movies, or just doing music, get something else. If you're doing games, movies, and music, that's the appeal, at least to me.

Marantz has always been overpriced in my opinion. I feel that’s part of the allure of Marantz. 👎🏼

Thats why they have Denon at the same main company for less - you can choose, good thing at least I thing. I had a Denon and switched to Marantz cause of its design what is more appealing to me.
