HELLO FRIENDS! I've been dying to share this project with you but I got a little stumped as to how to explain my sewing process and then I realized... why not just let it be as chaotic as I am? So here we are. I made a Selkie dress out of entirely thrifted materials and only spent seven dollars! I hope you enjoy watching this project, even though it is utter chaos.

Your little girl is sssoooooo cute! And, chaotic or not, your dress turned out great! Who doesn't love pockets and poofy sleeves?

I don't know why I've never thought of making a dress from sheets - that really gives purpose to finding beautiful retro bed sheets! Yours turned out beautifully Kristina!

I will say I think this turned out fantastic beautiful as always I love your sewing videos when you do make them because they are so comical because you admit that you don't do it right but it's right for you and that's all that matters so I love it

Kristina I have missed a few of your videos so must catch up with them. This one I absolutely love and your dress looks amazing on you. You have a very special beauty with the most perfect creamy skin. I enjoyed watching how you followed your own rules in assembling your beautiful dress, and the casual chaos which is so appealing. It would be stressful chaos for me! You sure know how to work magic for a tiny financial cost. Love the sheet. Warm wishes from chilly South Australia.🐾🥰

I love the change you made to add a strap to attach the sleeve to unlike the original design of a elastic sleeve cap (and they don’t even have bra strap keeper things!

This is super stunning Kristina!! The colours and the sleeves and the swoosh of the skirt are what dreams are made of- you’ve inspired me to spontaneously sew a skirt (out of bedsheets of course) this afternoon. I also love the way you explained sewing for yourself and if it makes you happy, then you’re successful as I totally am a chaotic sewer also! Sending best wishes to you and your lovely family 💐

I love this! Love the honesty, and watching you make a dress makes me want to make one for myself. I just make dresses for my daughter a lot, never for myself. It's intimidating. Lol

You look so pretty and yes you did it! I'd like to see more like this. Use tape for the falling sleeve or add ribbon 🎀 to tie in the back.

Oh, Kristina. I read instructions. Instructions can be maddening, but they are useful. Your dress is beautiful, but what’s more important is you feel beautiful in it. One suggestion: a hook and eye fastening at the top of your zipper. Otherwise the zipper looks good. Basting is a pain and I hate it, but it makes things easier overall in IMO. Got to give you credit for a spooky geometry brain. Good job!

The colors in the dress is perfect for your skin tone and I love how the green in the bodice make your eye color pop. I can't wait to see you make clothes like this out the beautiful sheets you thrift.

The dress is beautiful. If the sleeves falling bother you I think you can add elastic to the top edge to help hold it in place. I love you talking about chaotic sewing and struggles with the process. Struggle are part of the process and I try to be okay with the idea of I'll need my seam ripper most projects. My current struggle is also a sleeve fitting issue. I think I've fixed it, but yes, set in sleeve are a pain.

This is a beautiful dress, & more people should mix, & match pattern pieces. I see my own way, & I don't follow instructions either. We like watching the ride, & we aren't looking for a tutorial. There's plenty already. You sewed a dress while dealing with kids. There well you won!

Love the dress ❤️ And you are spot on about not thrifting thread! I sell sewing machines for my job, and modern sewing machines absolutely hate thread that is old or cheap quality. It doesn’t have a proper lubricant on it and so it can clog your machine with lint and in general, just make your sewing more frustrating by breaking and causing thread jams! I do have a collection of vintage threads though, but just for display 😉 love the new channel name too 👍

I’ve always enjoyed your content, and these are no exception. The randomness of it is super fun for someone who probably has a similar brain processes you :-) I don’t even so and I enjoy this video. I love seeing your little ones feet on the fabric ha ha. Kids are so great, and I’m glad you don’t edit that out to make it look “professional “. If you did that, it wouldn’t be so free form and encouraging for the regular person wanting to take a chance on sewing. Well done. And by the way that outfit at the beginning was super cute!

you look amazing, just add a hook and eye at the top of the zipper. But overall, you look so beautiful in this dress...you have the 1940's 1950's look which is very feminine and romantic. Just loved the way your little girl just sat on the fabric as it was cozy. Keep up the great work. Do you girl

Never thrift thread, unless it's an expensive type thread, & you KNOW it's in good condition. The thread will often break when sewing, or the seams will break up & show off your underpants. However if that turns you on, go ahead, we don't kink shame. (Joking)
