Marathi traditional food tradition is one of the most underrated and underestimated food in India. Different sections of maratha empire had different cusines. Proper research is the need of an hour. There are few books written on cusines of Peshwai but in early stage of maratha empire one can observe varities of food coming in. Yes we Marathis allowed and assimilated the rest Indian food culture to sip in slowly in are food habits. We are the pioneer of one of the finest receipies of the time. Pohe ( called Poha in Hindi and today popular in MP Rajsthan too) , Pavbhaji, Vadapav are not the only food of Marathi tradition. We contribute a lot to the world of food. @@rohanfadnavis2611 Ty Btw I refer underestimation here in terms of commodification of the cusines as it's been done by Punjabi or South Indian dishes. Bengali sweets, Rajsthani deserts, Punjabi non-veg and South Indian breakfast dishes found their places on menu cards of almost every restaurant across India. Whereas Marathi dishes despite having varied tests and exquisite flavours couldn't work wonder in business. Besides new Marathi generation loosing traditional touch, mostly chose rest of the Indian food with hardly anyone remembering that we have got our own food tradition. Marathi cusines has huge potential to unleash but of underrating by it's own new generation.

Kshitij S I think it wud be inappropriate to blame new generation if marathi cuisine is not being noticed the way it is suppose to. We can be at times biased as we belong to this race. Whatever is widely loved and accepted must be having something where we are lacking. Its not at al underrated esplly in the state of Maharahtra. We are proud and will b proud of our cusinie. But the irony is people coming from other regions are bit reluctant to accept it as their day to day food. Although people love to have vada pav, pav bhaji, misal etc.. Same is the case with other cuisines like punjabi, gujarati or southindian dishes. Its next to impossible to impose everything on our coming generation. Its their choice to pick watever is best in each cuisine. In this era people are wide open in their thoughts and ready to accept what seems palatable to them. We are rich in culture and represents ancient heritage of India but unfortunately the legacy cud not get continued in terms of cusine which we should not highlight as it depends on mass, at the end of the day its their taste and choice. 😊

रणवीर "जी" , बंगाली भाषा मे नाम के बाद "दा" लगाते है जो सामनेवाले के प्रति मान-सन्मान और आदरभाव जताता है। ये "दा" शब्द असल नाम का हिस्सा नही होता। जैसे आपको बंगाली भाई "रणवीर दा" बोलेंगे। लेकीन मराठी नाम "शिवाजी, शहाजी, संभाजी, कोंडाजी, हिरोजी, बहिर्जी, राघोजी, अण्णाजी, दामोजी और ऐसें अन्य" नामोंमे जो ये "जी" शब्द है ये असल नाम का ही हिस्सा है। इन या ऐसें अन्य नामोंमे इस "जी" शब्द को, महाराष्ट्र मे मान-सन्मान या आदरभाव नही माना जाता। और यही से गलतफहमी भी होना शुरु हो जाती है। जैसे बंगाली मे बप्पी लाहिरी जी को "बप्पी दा" बोलते है, लेकीन उन्हे हिंदी मे "बप्पी दा जी" बोलना बंगाली चल व्याकरण के हिसाब से गलत होगा। वैसेही "छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज" या "छत्रपती संभाजी महाराज" को सिर्फ "शिवाजी" या "संभाजी" बोलना मराठी चल व्याकरण के हिसाब से गलत होगा। आशा है की मेरी ये छोटीसी मार्गदर्शिका आपको आनेवाले समय मे भारत देश के महान राजाओ का नाम समझने और आदरपूर्वक उच्चारने मे मदद करेगी। 🙏 *जय हिंद, जय महाराष्ट्र* 🙏
