I suppose everyone playing against Shapovalov knows rightly that Shapo will inevitably produce a string of double faults and big unforced errors gifting them an easy break of serve sooner or later. Today match was no exception, Shapo double faulted like 10 times and produced a huge amount of unforced errors, some missing the court by huge margins. Anyway, Andy Murray got the job done and in the process booked his 500th win on hard courts, congrats to him.

With Shapo, the highlights don't do justice to the whole match. They don't show us exactly what you just mentioned. Too bad, Murray won't be able to walk for a week.
@davidmcpherson2220
@davidmcpherson2220 3 ай бұрын
I think the 1-hander is his biggest problem. Not many 1-handed players over the past decade have been able to go toe-to-toe with the world's best baseliners day in and day out and not rack up excessive numbers of UEs.
@teoc8124
@teoc8124 3 ай бұрын
@cpherson2220 I don't think the one hander is the main issue. I believe it is much more the mental side that needs improvement. Shapo more often than not chooses to go for broke in a shot when a defensive shot or a shot with a bigger margin of error would be more effective. I think if he only accepted that sometimes you need to extend the rally to get a better opportunity to attack, his consistency would greatly improve and he would win many more matches.

never have I been so invested in one persons sporting career. I watched him arrive on the scene and didn't much warm to this new kid with the double hander and the loopy forehand. I was used the Henmans' chip and charge, crazy good volleys. But this guy is the real deal ,a proper athlete with an all round game. No astounding anything (well his grit and movment?) the end is nigh. Maybe Wimbledon this year, the last hurrah? I will miss the grumpy old sod. Go on Muzza!

In this match, I think Sir Murray found himself 'The Key point of the match'. Now, We have to look through the point of view from shapovalov. Shapo has a lot positive energy enough to win over his throughout every opponents even Djoko or Nadal. But the point is, easy speaking, He has no brilliant key points which we had seen from Roger federer in his career 2017~2021. Not because of his age, mentality, nor of his physical condition of his every ups and downs from the matches. Concerns about injuries are definitely different point of issues. Just my personal opinion 🥦
