People who aren't used to splitting lanes as a part of their normal riding always believe that it is more challenging or dangerous than it really is. Once you're used to it, it's not such a big deal and you realize how much safer you are between traffic than being in it.

I am first and foremost a motorcyclist. Got my license at 19 and car license at 27... Had sportbikes from 1986 to this day like GPz, ZX, CBR, GSXR but eventually got into cruisers (M109R) and tourers for their comfort, i am 6'4". My main ride is a 2010 Victory Vision 8-Ball and i sometime take my beloved 1993 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-11 for a ride. A friend of mine bought a brand new Gold Wing Bagger with a manual transmission in 2020 and i took it for a ride and i had a blast! This thing has the best of both worlds: luggage capacity for long distance touring AND amazing capabilities for fast riding on twisty roads... and the sound of that flat 6 at high rpm is addictive! Sir, I explained why I ride in the left lane during rush-hour and this area of the Thruway on a motorcycle. It’s the safest lane to be in. I explain that during the video a lot of people have commented about it and I probably do a video solely explaining why I ride in the left lane. I have my commercial drivers license and can drive a tractor trailer drivers have to make a decision sometimes on safety that isn’t a standard rule the road, but at the time is the safest rule the road. I stand by my decision during rush-hour on this section of the Thruway to be in the left lane and I’ll do a video just explaining that please be safe right in peace and God bless you.

Why you drive in the left lane while the other lane is free?
@maraudermitchelliАй бұрын
During rush hour in this section of the Thruway, the left lane is the safest spot to be. I will not ride in the center lane or far right merging lane. It’s just too dangerous and some drivers are overly aggressive when I’m riding in the left lane I don’t have to worry about anything to my left because the Jersey barriers are there. I try to go with the flow of traffic when I’m in the left lane and if I do see that I’m holding people up I will go to the center lane and then return to the left lane. I really only do this during rush-hour and when I’m on a motorcycle, many people are very critical that I do this respectfully I don’t care. It’s a safe spot to ride. The Goldwing carries its weight very low in my opinion due to the low CG of the six-cylinder boxer twin and the fuel tank is very low in the motorcycle just above the engine what appears to be the fuel tank on the motorcycle is not more than likely, it’s the airbox so lifting the like office kickstand is very easy and maneuvering. The bike is also very easy power reverse and power forward off an electric engine really helped him maneuver it in the garage or in a parking lot truthfully I cannot say enough good things about this motorcycle if you’re interested in want I highly recommend you right up I hope they update this bike soon thank you for commenting. I think when they redesign the Goldwing four years ago, they did slim it up a bit and made it lighter and reduced the size of the gas tank. If you’re interested in a Goldwing I’d recommend that you ride one talk to the people at the dealerships. I do own a Harley Davidson, Road Glide, which I love but honestly, I think the Honda Goldwing is the most comfortable touring motorcycle on the market couple negatives as I mentioned in the video is, it doesn’t have adaptive cruise control Blindspot awareness emergency breaking and I wish the fuel tank was larger. I guess New York State is different than Ontario. In Ontario the left lane is not considered the "fast lane", instead it is considered the passing lane and you should only be in it when you are passing someone regardless of how fast you are going. I was a little shocked that you stayed in the left lane and forced someone to pass you on the right.
@maraudermitchelliАй бұрын
I fully understand and basically your understanding is the same for the United States at least in New York State, but in high traffic situations, I have no guilt staying in the left lane and going and driving at the post speed limit or slightly higher if people pass me on the right so be it but I want to protect my left flank. I hope you understand ride safe and in peace.
@davidedwards5773Ай бұрын
Yes it's true the left lane is considered the passing lane in Ontario but for the most part police ignore that due to the amount of traffic we have. The 401 is the busiest highway in North America and the left lane is just another lane for vehicles.

You know, I think a guy tried to wheelie a gold wing, but the new ones have electronics that prevent it. I honestly don’t think you can wheel a new Goldwing unless you modify it not a smart thing to do. Maybe I’ll search KZbin to see if someone’s done it Ride safe and peace.

Respectfully, you must not write on New York State Thruway’s often they pass on the right they pass on the left. They drive on the shoulder of the road many people frankly just drive crazy even when you’re driving 10 miles over the speed limit. It’s what you have to deal with when you’re driving in New York State and other roads by drivers who are abusive And overly aggressive. I’m sure you realize this God bless right in peace.

Sir, in this case during rush hour on the Thruway, I disagree with you and I will make a video explaining this within the next several months, but many feel the same way you do. I think it’s up to a rider to determine what is the safest lane to be in and that’s what I did and won’t apologize for stay tuned. Thank you for your comment. It is great. God bless and ride safe.
@jaimedecardenas83723 күн бұрын
Not up to rider and hogging left lane is dangerous and illegal in some states like NJ. You are forcing other drivers to pass you on right and potentially create accident. I don't see many cars merging and it's their responsibility to merge with our you changing lanes. No good reason to be on left lane unless right lane has potholes or you are passing Drive safe and beautiful bike

Witam. Dziwny ten Goldwing z 2024.

Boy, it’s a mix bag on the horsepower of the Goldwing some locations say 90 hp other is 120 hp to me. It feels like 120 hp with a lot of torque and I agree with you lack of horsepower pushes some away and it really shouldn’t For Tory motorcycle. It has more than enough power and certainly is as fast as a Harley Davidson maybe even faster I know I own a Road Glide Goldwing feels like a magic carpet ride though it’s an amazing motorcycle. Respectfully, I disagree with you. I really don’t think it’s a sport bike and I do have some experience as I have 170 hp Ducati and a KTM 990 Duke, which are very sporty, but I do agree with you in part. It needs a higher fuel capacity and range 250 miles is not a lot for a touring motorcycle. Also, as I’ve stated many times they need to have adaptive cruise control to this motorcycle. By the way I’m sure your Goldwing is great. I never read a comment from anyone and I’ve read hundreds that have dislike their gold wings no matter what year ride safe and in peace.

My next motorcycle will have an auto shift transmission and the Goldwing auto shift transmission is excellent And it’s awesome to have that extra seventh gear. I always recommend buy what you want, but it doesn’t hurt to look at a gold wing or even to ride one beautiful motorcycle and extremely comfortable, but I’m sure it’s not for everyone for me. Get out of the passing lane. Should never be passed on the right....
@maraudermitchelliАй бұрын
As I’ve stayed in in the video on a motorcycle during rush-hour on this area of the Thruway, the safest position for me to be is in the left lane not in the center lane or on the right lane today driving back from the dealership in my truck, my niece and I watched a truck during rush-hour rapidly caught across four lanes of the Thruway almost hitting two cars that were in the right lane and center lane to get to the left lane as I’ve stated in the video, I’m in the left lane because no one is on my left and I can focus on people in the right lane. It’s safer. I do not do this when I’m in a vehicle on the Thruway during rush-hour in the section. I do when I am in the left lane. I do go with the flow in the left lane within reason and I do occasionally venture into the center lane if I have to let cars pass I found no matter what I’m driving. Some people are disrespectful drivers and will cross double lines to pass even when I’m going the speed limit when making a left-hand turn on a single Lane road I’ve seen them pass me on the right side of my vehicle on the shoulder just to be irresponsible. This is my decision with the criteria I mentioned I think it is the safest way to travel the Thruway in this area during rush-hour thank you for commenting. I know that in many ways you are correct not for me on a motorcycle ride safe.
