Absolutely stunning roads and views. I am another viewer who just loves your tour videos, as I've said before, you make us feel as if we are there with you. You are making the Goldwing look like the perfect bike for this type of tour, especially two up, and it's taking those hairpins in it's stride, with you more than capable of steering it. I've been through the Frejus tunnel many times when I drove in Europe for a living, and like you, the first time the instructions came through the radio I was confused, I was looking for a police bike or tunnel employee ready to shout at me haha.

One observation I would make Andy about the tight, uphill right hand corners is that I always force the gearbox down into second, using the ‘minus’ paddle button before the tightest part of the corner so that if you did roll off fractionally, for any reason, you already have the revs up if you need power. This has the added benefit of standing the bike up faster, adding to both directional control and confidence.
@TheMissendenFlyer14 күн бұрын
Yes good idea, I have sometimes done that or popped her in sport mode that tends to hang on to lower gears for longer....

Hi Andy, You’re now in the region, west and southwest of Chamonix, where I was on vacation in summer several times. Great region but there’s a reason why everything is so green; it often rains I mean. I rode, with my car, part of the Tour de France route including Col de la Madeleine. Hairpins are easy…with a car but you don’t want to have to brake on a bike in the steep part of a right turn that goes up steep. The asphalt is then too far away for your feet. Down is not really a problem. I always try to avoid large main roads when touring. The somewhat smaller roads are much more interesting to ride and usually have better views.

Hi Andy, I enjoy your patter and "down to earth" approach to presenting information. With my wife on the back, we are always interested in new routes and destinations. As a suggestion, to make the destination more appealing give the viewer a bit more background on why you chose the destination. A few more facts about the place, or a walkabout to the "must see" attractions would not go amiss. Just a thought, not a criticism. Keep up the good work! Cheers.

A man after my own heart Andy, love and hate those hairpins, my Mrs like yours loves every minute which does instill confidence, keep it going excellent series 🫡🫣

Cheers Alan, clearly my Mrs doesn’t understand the peril she’s in when we take those hair pins!

Great ride, lovely scenery but €75 for a salad, I'd make a detour of that town. Good to see you both enjoying the Gold Wing. Last time I went to France was in a Mazda MX5 with the top down which I can also recommend.😊

Another great vid I also ride a wing two up and absolutely love the Alps views are amazing. The wing handles the corners effortlessly although mine is a manual! I laughed at you BUMP Carol means you missed it!! Happy holidays ☀️👍

Perfect timing! 🤣😂🤣🏍. Great stuff, towards the end the camera angles became ‘slightly artistic’ so we didn’t get the views which you were obviously enjoying! I haven’t been to Chamonix since the late eighties, it was pricey enough even back then! Looking forward to the next episode 👏😀👍🏍

Catching up out of sequence but will definitely be jumping back to the previous ones too. Interesting about the min distance and speed stuff in the tunnel, hadn't really thought about potential rules like that so now filed in the back of my mind. Will hopefully get back to Europe again before too long. Must say that Goldwing sounds very nice, a lot to be said for having plenty of cylinder's!

Great roads, spectacular views. Very interesting hear how the DCT managed the switchbacks. Looks like you didn't miss feathering the clutch? Great trip. Cheers Arthur🏍

Good Day Mr. & Mrs. Flyer, I'm really enjoying your tour and makes me question why I emigrated to the U.S. Andy, I noticed you shifting around on the bike seat and reminded me of when I had the OEM seat on my 2023 GL1800 DCT Tour. I finally went the Russell Day Long route and after 3000 miles have not found a limit on how long I can stay in the seat. When are you going to install the Innovv - Third Eye Blind Spot Detection system on the Goldwing. Innovv also worked with BMW and they have a great option for the GS. Thanks again for bringing us along on the "Winging it" tour.

Actually I find the standard seat very comfy - in fact the best seat on any bike I've ever ridden!! I like blind spot detection but not if it means trailing cables and cameras all over the bike which I assume the Innov does?

Great ride guys, the Wing is impressing me more each time. Interesting shop behind you “A Allard” as my son’s name is Allard! Love Carol truck spotting on hairpins, and looking forward to next week already. 👍

Great video as usual. You did miss a trick and not go through the tunnel but go over Mont Blanc via the SS27 it’s a peach of a road crossing the boarder. Many bikers miss the turning,
