Tarot is something that must be taught in order to be understood. If you think about it Magik has had little formal training at all. What little she was taught came from Velasco or Dr. Strange and neither of them are really Tarot card users. Most of her power and skill intuitively emerged after the creation of her soul sword and becoming a hell-lord.

Ergo, there is no precedent for learning something as specialized as Tarot. I'd like to point out that most of the major magic users in Marvel don't know Tarot reading at all. It's like, would you expect a pediatrician to be able to explain the finer details of quantum mechanics and how it works in string theory, just because a Pediatrician technically works in the scientific field?. NO! Because It's super specialized requires a lot of work and study.

I don't agree with Logan about Brian being able to stop all of this. It wouldn't have stopped Annihilation or the forces of Amenth. Storm has died before - shortly after the Morlock Massacre, in Dallas when Forge fought against the Adversary. To lock him away, the X-Men & Maddy gave their lives. Roma brought them back, but they were dead for a time. And Yes! I thought the card Cypher had could be Bei. On a cover with Doug there is a shadow of his opponent, it looked like Bei's silhouette. And wasn't it leaked that its Cypher vs Bei?

They came out in separate spots and without memories. That was when Betsy landed on the Hand Island which lead to the body swap and Peter was a famous artist. Storm got de-aged. ... and I have no memory of the clone storm in Wakanda. But then I wasn't reading them during the time Marvel retconned things so Ororo & T'Challa knew each other as kids and then years later got married as adults.

I love these Swordsman of Amenth/Arroko, they are well drawn, well written, they provide much needed depth. I am hoping through some type of Marvel Magic that none are killed off. I have cried for Marvels writer's to get creative and invest in new character depth. It's EARLY, but Wolverine is working on something, there's a lot on the line here and he's not going to screw up like it appears.

I know this is a late explanation but let me break it down. Domino is probability: the odds are in her favour. Isca is Certainty. She will always be on the winning side. But she’s not in control of that when it comes to big things. Her powers literally compel her to never lose so, if her side is going to lose, she automatically switches whether she likes it or not.

On paper the premise of this issue seemed like it wouldn’t work too well. Turns out this is one of the best issues of this arc. As a Storm fan, Storm was a boss this issue. I know they have to build up the enemies and create credible threats but Storm, Magik, Cable, Captain Britain, Warlock, Cypher and Wolverine are all in future solicits so we know most of the X-Men have to somehow survive anyway. The Krakoans with their strategizing and sizing up their opponents FINALLY seem like an actual threat to the previously seemingly unstoppable Arakki. I’m ready for the fighting.

Saturnyne is only powerful in Other World whereas Jim is multiversal, but I get it, the writer brought Jim back less powerful to tell his particular story which always upsets me where powerful characters are written out or de-powered.

We don't have clearer history of how exactly Saturnyne deal with that situation, but base on those information i supposed that she use the fight between Merlyn and Roma to drove both of them out and become the only ruler of citadel. Then she can just use that method to play a game of bargain to have one lord in realm have enough power to oppose another- like when she have Mad Jim Jasper in Crooked Market, she also placed an entire army of Fury in the Everforge. She might not have enough power to deal with other Lord like Mad Jim Jasper alone, but she can ally with Fury to overpower Jim, and in contract if Fury threaten her power she can ally with Jim. In Excaliber they had mentioned that Saturnyne can't even stop the war of Morgan le Fay in Avalon and had to closed the Citadel to protect herself, which mean she isn't much more powerful than the lord of other realms, she just have authority to balanced them. Even inside realm of Citadel when she stop time to deal with Arakko, she need Polaris to pull Citadel to exactly position to power up herself (the starlight above her head)

What are the things that upset me about the state of the mutants is that they’re getting really rude when it comes to anyone who is not a mutant themselves....This cold mutant protects mutant mentality is starting to get a little extreme. I understand that Brian is not a mutant....But he belongs to a large group of individuals who have been with the X-Men for years. It's really interesting to see this from a morality standpoint. It could be argued that The Arakkii side has been the more virtuous side when compared to the X-Men/Krakoan side. The Arakkans' have sacrificed the most, fighting for literally hundreds of years against Amenth in order to keep them from invading Earth. The Arakkans also plainly accept the terms of the tournament as it stands, while Krakoa just seems to be looking out for themselves. Wolverine trying to kill Saturnine is an example of this.

I must say its rather annoying what they do to storm, in many issues she is lighter, and in this one she seems darker. Not sure if that's due to her being the only black character (minus Death seeing that we haven't seen his face). It was mention she has deep brown skin tone, now I'm not shaming any of my black ppl of any shade but, its rather ignorant of some of the artist and media in general believing black ppl are only beautiful if they are lighter

Writers cant seem to figure out what they want to do with the Xmen , one goes in one direction , another goes into a completely different direction. The multiple lives theme started out good , but kinda went out with a fizzle. Now the sword theme seems good but it doesnt fit the Xmen really well . It fits the Captain Britain theme though. Many of these themes just dont feel like a natural progression , at some point the story arc has to loop back rewarding earlier readers earlier comic buyers by progressing some of the stories that went into a dead end . Sabretooth is a very neglected character , who had a very good arc being a prisoner under Xavier trying to reform him. One positive thing going on at is the with the current story arc , the current Xmen are kinda contained in their own little story universe at the moment. This allows the writer to be more creative with new content.
