He lives bikes (and dogs) and is passionate about everything he does, will buy anyone a beer and was an amazing instructor when he was doing that.

I don't normally post online. But I'll make an exception here. This is the best OMG episode yet, and I've watched them all. I just wish that Simon Crafar was given more airtime to be so open and straightforward with his opinions on Motogp. I understand that he works for them and I "get it". But this episode was a must listen for me and I wasn't disappointed. Absolutely fascinating insight from someone who has "walked the walk" and can see through the "B.S." smokescreen that so many teams and riders try to "feed" us. Thank you Simon and thank you OMG podcast for a classic episode. Keep it coming.

I love his eagle eye in the pit lane calling out the changes to the bikes. 😁 The whole Marc, Martin thing. It will be interesting years from now when we can hear what really happened behind the scenes.🤔 Great Podcast folks keep up the great work 👍

To manufacturers as well, clearly saying about Honda's attitude and current situation made them humble and he wish to see them back again at front which I also want as at the end of the day, its nice to see fight between manufacturers as well otherwise 2025 will be more domination of Ducati with Marc in Factory Team along with Pecco.

I totally loved this one. Simon gave great insight of the silly season so far. And Marc has done mistakes, tonnes of them but in 2023 Martin crashing into him during title deciding race was not Marc's fault. Marc didn't show any sort of disappointment and even said it's ok because such things happen when you're hunting the title. I can't believe Simon said Marc deliberately did this one.

People who hate you will attempt to destroy your personality if they have nothing more, but hatred itself is an characteristic of lower life forms (see I can do the same as Simon). Marc never hated Rossi (in fact, he openly stated Rossi was/is his "idol"), and Rossi probably doesn't hate Marc, toxic "fans" and people like this guy Simon are the issue.

Such a great podcast, this was one of the best👍🏻 I have been watching MotoGP since 1989 on tv and seen every race, now on the MotoGp channel and it is wonderful that they have Simon there as I feel that he is by far the best of the commentators, the others call everything amazing and the best even if a lot of the time it is just racing and their crazy obsession with Acosta is infuriating to listen too, I like Acosta, he is an exceptional talent, but he is in the big class now and I think it is far too early to call him the next big thing, one could see him in the beginning riding care free, but he soon understood that riding like that would not make him win, since then he has become more careful and conservative in his approach to the race. He may well be a coming champion but I think it is criminal how the commentators on MotoGP just seem to not notice the tremendous job that Martin and Marquez and Enea have done this year, just my opinion 😜

After Marc Marquez made an interview in a spanish radio, this is what ACTUALLY happened; The sunday at Barcelona, Ducati already told Jorge that he was going to be factory rider, you can actually hear Tardozzi and Jorge joke about it in the post-race. Then someone at Pramac spread the news, and in Mugello (thursday or friday) Marc was asked if he was content with going to Pramac, which he answered "No, I'm not going to a non-factory team". This made all Ducati´s plans go upside down. So they ended up offering the following proposal to Jorge and Marquez: "Jorge, you will be factory rider in 2025 UNLESS Marquez wins the 2024 title, if that happens Marquez will take the factory seat". Jorge agreed to such plan, but Marquez did NOT. Marc said in the interview that it wasn't fair to fight for a factory seat using different machines, it was unfair. Ducati's plans were once again going nowhere. After all this years fighting (Jorge) for the factory seat he was once again betrayed and questioned, so he just took it's own future in his hands and decided that it was enough, the same day Aprilia made the announcement he signed the "contract". From there it was clear path to sign Marquez as a factory rider. Thats HOW it really happened :)

@@adarsh_adi no body said anything about chanting Marc's name lol , Fyi I love Simon's analysis and personality overall , but he has shown more than once that he doesn't like Marc and only praises him when he has to , like when he does something absolutely amazing but he's the first one to jump on him when he does the slightest mistake lol, you don't see him doing it when Pecco rams into the side of people or when he's being too aggressive, he simply says something like "champions mentality" or "I feel sorry for him" etc 😂 like the incident with Alex , that was clearly Pecco's fault but he still tried to justify it, same with last year's incident between Marc and Jorge , that was 100% Jorge being too aggressive , but Simon still blamed Marc . and just to be clear I like all three of these riders , they're the ones making the sport exciting atm

@@mrmehdi4745 Pecco rams into side of people, that itself tells what you are expecting at first place. When did Pecco rammed into side of people? If you are saying about Jerez 2024, then it's aggressive one which if roles reversed Marc would have done the same and there are incidents where Marc is more aggressive. So showing hate saying Pecco just rams into people and expecting Simon to like is double standards only. Regarding, Martin and Marc case from TV side I can say Simon is wrong but he is on track and he can check multiple footages and see what Marc did and regarding and I don't know that and for that can't tag him as hater. Because, after achieving so much you expect to set a standard for others, but you are setting aggressiveness as standard later blame Pecco and Martin are aggressive it's meaningless because they will also say we just following what Marc did. Alex-Pecco case it was definitely borderline and Pecco and his team submitted data which stewards doesn't accepted and considered just visuals and given Penalty which he also mentioned there are 2 ways, if Alex knew Pecco already slow he had enough time to move inside of him. Thats why they said it's just same old policy Marc is following what Rossi did and he also told Marc is phenomenal no doubt about that, but even when he makes mistakes expecting not to criticize is typical fanboy stuff and everyone aware on current grid if it comes to contact overtakes it's with Marc only.

@@adarsh_adi no offense but I didn't really get everything you were trying to say , but yeah I see your point, but I'm not saying he should praise Marc or hate Pecco, I'm just saying he should be fair and not always side with Pecco no matter what . Pecco did ram into people on several occasions even going back to last year, again, I'm not saying he shouldn't because I personally love aggressive riders like binder , Martin , Marc , Pecco and Acosta , but my point is Simon always tries to justify Pecco's moves even when he's in the wrong. but when Marc does the exact same thing Simon would say it's inacceptable or dangerous , and for the Alex incident he was on flying lap trying to improve his time he shouldn't have to change his line and ruin his lap just because he saw Pecco was slowing down , it was Pecco's responsibility to move out of the way and not be on the racing line in the middle of the corner .

Man I love some Simon Crafar! He is a legend and brings something special to all the MotoGP broadcast. W/ that being said, this is only my personal opinion; when he talks about Marc. He comes off like an old salty rider who wishes he accomplished a miniscule amount of what everything Marc has. Good on Simon saying he had done the same on the brakes but damn Simon let it go. Yes Marc use to be a real prick to deal w/ before his big crash but stop an take a moment to think about being a successful young man from day one. Constantly being swamped by reporters and folks w/ their hands out. Anybody that young would probably be a little jaded an have a distaste for ppl outside their social circle. Not saying it's right but its that old adage " walk a while in someone's shoes ". OK I will come off the soapbox lol, still love ya Simon even if we don't see eye to eye. Keep up the great content OMGMotoGP! EDITED : Wanted to also shout out Simon for being a man of action when it comes to the 4 legged furry friends. Had no clue he had been trying to set this up. Please Simon once the charity is setup let everyone know where we can send funds to help the fight! Good man.

Because he is a salty person, I have 0 respect for this guy (never heard of him anyway), not sure why anyone in the comment praises him, he won no title, and from what I can see, he's shitty person as well.

I don't get Simon's hate boner against Marquez brother. It is clearly evident when he talks about Marc during weekends. Jorge Martin admitted it was his mistake, and Simon suggests he ran wide purposefully to launch himself on to the moon after a week or two of surgery. And coming to the Alex analogy, sorry but what a clown take. It was Alex's penultimate lap to get into Q2, and pecco was on his cooldown lap. So simon suggests Alex to ruin his racing lines. Man I was baffled by this. Binder is getting his ass spanked by a rookie and yet he did not utter a single word while saying Marc won't go to KTM because he is afraid of Pedro. Even Keith was afraid to bring Binder in the conversation, only dragging miller down so it does not upset Simon. Come on simon you have to stop this shit, you can't be biased.

Have always loved Simon's style right from his early days as a MotoGP presenter even when many used to be critical of his style. So happy that he has not only won his haters with his knowledge and charm but he has also cemented his place in the paddock to the extent that his absense during any weekend feels as if a crucial ingredient of a perfect MotoGP weekend is missing. ✨🌟💪🏼🤩

1:12 mark - when Simon came on as a broadcaster he was definitely struggling BUT now he is one of the BEST broadcasters I’ve heard. I always liked Dylan Gray in pit lane but Simon being an ex-GP racer gives you all of the little details. MotoGP & Dorna do a great job with their team & their programming. Just awesome!

By far the best episode in the history of this podcast. Renita is SO much more prepared, engaged and informed about Motogp than Amy and asked the best questions that didn't seem written down or rehearsed. Simon is a model Motogp legend , a true gentleman and with plethora of knowledge, insight and perspective. Please find a way to bring Simon Back.

Podcast listened - I had no idea you guys had a KZbin channel, and I came here simply because of Renita's advice to check out Simon's demonstration of aero. Absolutely worth it 😄 Top job folks, love your show, and this one with Simon is especially outstanding. Personally I'm quite relieved to hear him say that Ducati *can't* leave Jorge Martin on outdated equipment for the rest of the year because of their contractual obligations to Pramac.

#ridersfordogs 43:37 Exhaust backfire? 47:54 I thought about it at the time, but I just dismissed it as me being cynical. 53:13 Pramac's Yamaha alternative may work in Jorge's favour in this aspect, Ducati FT will be watched closely.

after the aero era !!!there will be wings and Michelin will have just to take care of the take off and the landing, and the bike bikes will just over the race track,!!!! aero should be forbidden, like Simon said it's just wiping the experience and and mixing best one with the average. (and the Kamikaze)

Dude simon it doesn't matter if Alex saw Pecco braking or slow on racing line but what Pecco did is that he was deliberat slow on racing line... If even marc or roosi does that they are getting panelty....

Lorenzo's dad, who has a channel called Motogepeando and trains lots of new riders himself, commented on one of his videos about the riders seemingly coming only out of Spain. He said that while it is not a cheap sport anywhere, in other countries kids would have to be upper middle class or higher to get into it, while in Spain, kids with less resources that have the talent, can get to be seen and supported if they are very good. Between that and the insurance thing, I don't know what is the bigger problem. Hopefully more countries get to figure it out.

Crafar said that Marc turned in on Martin at Valencia. Did he saw the crash that Marc had? Marc is crazy, but i dont think even Marc would do that 😅 he might have closed the door, he was in front, but saying that Marc tried to throw both of them off, doesnt seem right. I never noticed him talking crap about Marc before, but now that you guys mention it, it does seem a bit passive agressive about it

He said that Alex wanted to make a scene, what about other waving and throwing hands around? And why the hell he would change his optimal line when he’s on a fast lap. The guy who should be worried about others should be one who’s going slow.
