Great upload again, thank you, I used to Love Overmars, lightning quick, always attacking and aggressive, always took on his man, had a 1 in 3 scoring ratio which was superb too. Would love to see a player like him at the club now......tbf Id like to see most of the players from that team in our squad now.

The season just gone Arsenal were lucky to nick a couple of narrow wins vs ManUtd with late goals in both to then narrowly nick the title by virtue of having just 1 more draw than ManUtd over 38games ManUtd had more unlucky defeats than Arsenal as well so the 1 extra draw for Arsenal didn't in any way reflect they were better. ManUtd also had superior GD so they really lost by no margin half a point at most despite those head-to-head defeats, scored more & conceded quite a few less than Arsenal despite having Keane injured all season when they'd only just lost Cantona as well. Could've forgiven ManUtd for thinking the season just gone was just terrible luck. So to lose 3-0 here and then at Highbury the following month was quite surprising at the time but really it was only the CharityShield and an away game at a stadium you know you're not going to be favoured in and these were 2 of only a handful of losses over all competitions for ManUtd that season. Zero defeats in FAcup & ChampionsLeague despite such hard pathways that you would've had trouble hand picking any harder in both & bad decisions also (hence playing Arsenal in two 120minute SF matches when if Keane's valid goal wasn't wrongly disallowed in the first SF it would've just been one 90min game), 35 out of 38 league games unbeaten=Treble. Some claimed ManUtd were lucky to win the Treble, they had little luck that season compared to the amount of bottle & skill they had. Arsenal were much luckier to win the double 97/98 than ManUtd were in winning the Treble 98/99 but you never really hear people stating this fact. Even taking into account ManUtd were competing in ChampionsLeague both seasons and Arsenal didn't play European football 97/98 which favoured them and were knocked out in CL 1st round 98/99 so both seasons ManUtd played considerably more European football than Arsenal which undeniably takes it's toll on the team. 98/99 however ManUtd did have squad depth to just about deal with their busy schedule.

We won 13 out of 14 games in the title run in in 97/98, and when we'd already secured the title with 2 games to go we lost the last 2. That's not luck it's peaking at the business end of the season! We beat you home and away that season too, we were the better team in the league I don't think it's arguable
@FootkerSnookball
@FootkerSnookball Жыл бұрын
@@souster98 "beat you home & away that season too"🤦‍♂️What did I just say? I said Arsenal got lucky late wins vs ManUtd of course you won those games that's the only way how Arsenal stood a chance of nicking it. Doesn't further justify a team as worthy champions doesn't make them better just because they won head-to-head games that could've gone either way it just means they were given valuable points. You're acting like Arsenal didn't get given the points for those wins. At Highbury at 2-2 Scholes was blatantly fouled in the box by Winterburn no pen given and then Winterburn assists the winner. That decision alone swung 6pts in Arsenal's favour and they needed another 6-pointer win later vs ManUtd B-team due to injuries. Arsenal needed to win those 2 games and play all of their home games before winning the title so let's not pretend it was comfortable. Last 2 games Arsenal were playing both away (Anfield & VillaPark) fixtures they regularly struggled in for the surrounding years so I think they would've lost them anyway or taken maybe 1 point vs Villa so Arsenal were just lucky it didn't really matter due to those narrow wins vs ManUtd. You really think Arsenal planned to lose 4-0 first game after being crowned champs no team wants that, they didn't just throw them or narrowly lose they had 0-5 aggregate score last 2 games and also it's because they wanted to rest players for FAcup they were lucky they could do that, the fixture sceduling really won them the double that season. If they have to play ManUtd last game of the season they don't win the double they may not win anything in fact. Where as ManUtd won the treble with unfavourable fixture sceduling & opponents list with no defeats for the last 5months or so. Arsenal 98/99 again had to do the double over ManUtd for a chance of nicking the title, just by the fact this time instead of 2 wins they got 1 win & a draw they couldn't win the league, they needed a 12point swing again. Showing they were always 2nd best. Like you always felt Chelsea were inferior to ManUtd in the 2006/07 to 2010/11 era ManUtd won 4 out of 5 should've been 5 in a row Chelsea needed everything on their side to nick 1 title in that period as the 2nd best team but only because the league didn't want the same champion literally every year and 3 in a row appears to be the maximum the league allows regardless of whether they're still the best team or not. Otherwise they can't brand it the most exciting unpredictable league in the world like they tend to, it would look boring.

 @Dan-gf4zv haha yeah united were famously hard done by the refs in the fergie years mate... I don't know where to start but you're acting like you deserved every title from 1994-2010? The facts are in 1997/98 we turned on title winning form when it mattered and streamrolled everyone in the title run in. Just accept you weren't good enough to win it that season, you have plenty more titles to celebrate man! Chelsea were superior in 09/10, they scored the most goals ever in the prem up to that point I believe, absolutely worthy champions.

@@souster98 ManUtd 97/98 had the exact same goals for & against as Arsenal had in their 03/04 invincible season...but Arsenal 97/98 who had less goals & more conceded were better than ManUtd according to you....but then all of a sudden goals count in your next argument when talking about Chelsea scoring the most goals in 2009/10 which was literally their only argument and it was a weak one because they were given loads of meaningless goals and emphatic scorelines vs less men with everything on their side all season because the league wanted a new champion, including fixed head-to-heads that if were refereed fairly ManUtd win the league by a canter despite Chelsea getting given so much all season, even the fixture sceduling was heavily in Chelsea's favour. Given a 7-0 & 8-0 in 2 of the last 3 games after robbing ManUtd with a series of poor decisions ManUtd were better than Chelsea in head-to-heads which decided the title for all of the Stamford bridge game & all but the first 20mins of OldTrafford game that Rooney was injured for, Chelsea needed multiple illegal goals vs ManUtd, multiple bad offside calls, multiple bad no penalty decisions etc...Chelsea could at least look worthy by the fake big scorelines at the end but it didn't fool me. Bit childish thinking Chelsea had to be better just by looking at their goal tally. That same year Barca won LaLiga and were most likely seen as worthy winners by most people yet RMadrid scored triple figures (only 1 goal less than Chelsea) Barca didn't. ManUtd did the best against the top5/6 teams despite being robbed home&away vs Chelsea. ManUtd had near perfect record vs the bottom teams battling to stay up 13 out of 14 wins vs bottom 7 Chelsea just did slightly better against the Mid-table teams with nothing to play for including Liverpool who literally threw their last home game to them. ManUtd conceded the least and still had +58 GD not many PL teams have had better GD than that and it was at least REAL not fake, Chelsea scored more MEANINGLESS goals wow, for all their goals that season they still had the same number of wins as ManUtd and the same number of wins by just 1 goal as ManUtd (but pretty much all Chelsea's wins by 1 were luckier than ManUtd's i.e 3 very lucky late 2-1 wins from behind, 2 very controversial 1-0 wins and some other very unconvincing 2-1 wins. Hull at home Drogba scoring a fluke cross in stoppage-time after equalising from a wrongly awarded freekick as well, Stoke away similar win very late etc...) and before the penultimate game where Gerrard deliberately threw the Chelsea game with backpass Chelsea actually had same number of wins but 1 more victory by just 1 goal than ManUtd who had more by at least 2 or more goals but that weekend ManUtd won 0-1 & Chelsea were given a 0-2 win vs Liverpool and both top2 thrashed their final opponent and finished on same number of wins by 1 goal....but ManUtd had more away wins and they were cheated home&away vs Chelsea who were 2nd best in both games but saved by series of poor decisions and only won because of those games. How does that make them the best over 38games?? Liverpool weren't playing for anything apart from preventing ManUtd overtaking Liverpool on league title's it was the first year that was possible hence his backpass to Drogba after Liverpool had won at all costs vs ManUtd earlier in the season which was another dodgy defeat 2 Carragher last man fouls no red card, very strong out of control tackle on Carrick in the box no pen and LucasLavor fouling all game no booking but some of the soft reds ManUtd were given that season Scholes vs Spurs, Fletcher vs Birmingham, Nani straight red vs Villa which was the same as Kompany's on Nani 2 years later that everyone cried about because it was for ManUtd not against them. So you can't even easily find the Nani red on KZbin because of the prejudice attitude against ManUtd. ManUtd still had the best record against the top5&top6 teams that season with their home&away wins vs Arsenal, Spurs & ManCity (Chelsea lost half of those fixtures) despite being robbed home&away vs Chelsea which was the only reason Chelsea finished above ManUtd who did considerably better vs the rest of the PL. These are fishy facts about Chelsea's fake GD in 2009/10 they were given a lot of meaningless extra goals to disguise them as worthy winners after having to cheat home&away vs ManUtd to go a point above them so the only way they could seem worthy & cover up the controversy of the title win if Chelsea finish 1st is by empathic scorelines & fake GD. ManUtd had SAME number of WINS (27) SAME number of wins by ONE goal (7) SAME number of wins by TWO or more (19) but ManUtd had 1 MORE away (8) SAME number of wins by 3 or more (13) but ManUtd had 1 MORE away (4) Only 1 less by 4 or more (7) but 1 MORE away by 4 or more (3) Both SAME number of away wins by 5 or more (one 0-5 each, Chelsea vs rock bottom Portsmouth, ManUtd vs 15th Wigan). So these goals you're talking about were just meaningless goals to add to lead when they're being given every decision at Stamford bridge. With 3 games to go there was only 1 point & 3GD separating the 2 teams (after Chelsea cheated home&away vs ManUtd so ManUtd should've had both more points & better GD) and ManUtd won their last 3 games & added an extra 7GD to their tally but Chelsea still gained 10GD on ManUtd in the final 3 games 🤔 Chelsea were given a 7-0 & 8-0 in game 36 & 38 (Gerrard backpass game inbetween) these fixtures Chelsea didn't usually win by much if at all. ManUtd would consistently beat those teams comfortably like normal trashing scores not too crazy but like very comfortable 2-0 or 3, 4 or 5-0 but Chelsea didn't tend to they'd struggle more then all of a sudden they beat them by crazy scores 7/8 nil🤔 The 7-0 vs Stoke Kalou injured Stoke's GK with a 2 footed lunge red card offence early on and instead of being sent off he was given a goal and Stoke played the rest of the game with reserve GK so the wrong team was punished. Chelsea scored many pens & many goals vs numerical disadvantages and there were also fouls in the build up unpunished vs Wigan. The 8-0 vs Wigan (a team who Chelsea embarrassingly lost to earlier in the season) was officiated by Martin Atkinson so no surprise he was there to destroy that football match he always helped Chelsea and showed up so often in their must win games which always had them winning. Plus they had flattering scorelines throughout hence a fake overall GD. HowardWebb denied Spurs a clear pen at Stamford bridge at 1-0 Chelsea then scored a 2nd shortly after and ended up winning 3-0 when Chelsea most likely would've dropped points there and later in the season Spurs completely battered Chelsea were 2-0 up should've been more but instead Chelsea scored a late consolation goal against the run of play to somehow only lose 2-1, Chelsea would've been lucky with a 2-1 win in their earlier 3-0 win vs Spurs. I remember ManUtd battered Arsenal away more than Chelsea did who more sucker punched Arsenal but Chelsea ended up finishing 0-3 winners the timing of all their goals being quite lucky either side of half-time and 1 quite late where as ManUtd were 0-3 up at the Emirates quite early and had other great chances Arsenal ended up getting away with just a 1-3 defeat it was still a comfortable win and doesn't matter it finished 1-3 a win's a win but just shows Chelsea weren't anything special just because of their GD they had a lot of flattering scorelines and it's no surprise it never happened again this was a rare season where they score many and have the best GD often even when they win they don't but 2009/10 there was a lot of luck and controversy involved, they're not usually big scorers at all. Some act like this was their best title win because of their goals etc...it was their worst they needed to cheat to nick it, it was their most slender winning margin and their lowest title winning points total with their most league defeats in a title winning season. That Chelsea team often struggled with 10men as well and are overrated because ManUtd probably scored more vs 11 men than Chelsea did. Chelsea so often got away with red card offences in that era but lost most the games they played with 10men. Where as ManUtd coped so well often with 10men beat Spurs 1-3, comfortably drew away to Villa with 10 (Chelsea lost there 11 vs 11), beat Wolves in LeagueCup with 10men for most of the game with the red at 0-0. That's another thing about that season. ManUtd won the league cup playing 4 solid PL teams including 3 in the top6. Chelsea had a really easy FAcup route and they seem to overhype that and at the time of Rooney's injury he was on 34 goals late March and ManUtd were top of the PL, still very much alive in the CL and as mentioned had already won a cup with a tough route where as Chelsea were out CL and not top of the league lucky to still be in the race. Rooney didn't score again after his injury that season a massive slice of extra luck for Chelsea just like Arsenal 97/98 needed many ManUtd major absences.

@@souster98 You're saying I'm not allowed to talk about ManUtd being "actually" cheated just because ManUtd are a club people like to defame because there's anti-ManUtd jealous fans who make up rumours everything is blown up, a ref can get away with cheating for another club for years no one says anything but a ref gives ManUtd 1 decision he's got that false reputation for life. You're pretending you're the first person who says about ManUtd decisions lol I wasn't talking about something without taking into account decisions for as well as against. I wouldn't complain if I thought what I was complaining about was fair overall. Arsenal constantly cry about their loss to miss out on a half century unbeaten but I think being robbed of a record 4 PL's in a row is worse but you don't hear ManUtd crying anywhere near as much as Arsenal losers. Not surprising, even after the Thierry offside brace it was Arsenal playing it off like they're the ones hard done by. ManUtd having rumours spread about them doesn't give you the right to not allow anyone associated with them to point out when they've actually been hard done by. Cowardly thing to do is talk about ManUtd decisions and it's boring you hear stupid people do that all the time try to be original and think for yourself not just jump on the jealous bandwagon the secret is people over exaggerate any little bit of so called luck ManUtd have but the same people say nothing all the times ManUtd have real reason to be aggrieved. ManUtd have never won the title with dodgy wins vs their direct rival to then only nick the title by a nothing margin vs that same team. I never said every year ManUtd should've won. Blackburn deserved the title they won albeit they got lucky with Cantona's suspension that's all. I respect that they still managed to win the title after ManUtd had 2 fortuitous wins vs them I respect that a hell of a lot more than a team only winning because they nicked wins against us in the head-to-heads. Getting zero pts in the head-to-heads means you've got a lot more work to do than your rival vs the rest of the league so I have no complaints about Blackburn if you take maximum points off the team you're competing with and still can't win then you can't blame anyone but yourselves I wouldn't even blame the officials if we were denied a pen in the final game if my team has luckily beaten their title challenger home&away because it shouldn't even be close if you've managed to win both head-to-heads if you're really better than that team you're competing with. ManUtd scored more & conceded less than Arsenal 1997/98 and that's with getting nothing vs Arsenal I accept you won it but I'm not going to be unrealistic and say you were clearly the best team and the table literally tells you there was absolutely nothing in it if you could've shared it that would've been the time, Arsenal 1 extra draw, ManUtd 12 extra GD... and my comments are even more justified considering ManUtd won the treble the next year, can I say from looking at ManUtd 97/98 we didn't show signs of being capable of that no I can't and shame on you if you couldn't see it because it's clearly you in the wrong then because ManUtd did go on to not only win CL next year but 3-peat the PL in the next 3 seasons including thrashing Arsenal 6-1 I think if you're winning 6-1 against your rival and winning the PL at a canter then you have every right to say you were clearly better but if you win by nothing margins just accept that particular final week you happened to be top it could've gone either way claiming you were clearly the best is just absurd. Wenger couldn't admit ManUtd were the best in 2002/03 when ManUtd won by 5 pts and Thierry scored an offside brace against ManUtd so don't turn it around that we can't accept defeat I'm just realistic and would do the same if I felt we got lucky to win something. Arsenal 98 & Chelsea 2010 both won it in the only way you can be 2nd best and win the PL... by being lucky in the head-to-heads & finishing above that team by extremely thin margin because of those wins when they wouldn't have stood a chance if they didn't get lucky in those games & take all the points which are worth double in head-to-heads. If Arsenal 98 & Chelsea 2010 were as good as they claim they would've won by a canter. ManUtd would've broken the points winning margin record if they got half the decisions Chelsea got in 2009/10. Chelsea should've at least won by 12pts to start to justify themselves as worthy winners but couldn't manage even a 2-point margin it was pathetic. ManUtd have won many titles at a canter and been given little to no credit from rival fans pretending they weren't that good. But same people pretend these lucky winners who were 2nd best deserved it 🤔 Also if Arsenal 98 & Chelsea 2010 were so great they would've retained it proving it wasn't a fluke but they both failed to do so, Chelsea miserably failed they were lucky to even get top4 in 2011 and it wasn't surprising they were overhyped.
