There are only two possible options for this. One, Simon is playing us and was just putting a show to let the audience know that in no way did he meddle with MP and didn’t pick the song for him when actually he did! The second option is that MP decided to sing a song that he liked and go against Simon’s choice. That is why Simon was not entirely impressed and said what he said! I remembered in a video MP released saying that he didn’t like Simon’s song choice because it was a regular song with no “highs”. Beauty and the Beast certainly isn’t THAT song then! And the way Simon said his piece in the end ,sort of “deeply stressed” the “ if I were to choose the song...” to MP. I sense a bit of threat there as if rubbing it to Marcelito that “ he didn’t do as told” so prepare for the consequences! That worries me much! I will not be surprised now if MP could not even come close to being champion anymore! It has always been Simon’s game! 😔😔😔🤨

This proves the show has been pre-recorded. The finals is not scheduled till tomorrow night 02/10/20 8 pm (Pacific Time). Considering that the producer including, Simon Cowell had full control, I find it hard to believe that Marcelito Pomoy could have changed the song that he was given. If Marcelito Pomoy sang Beauty and the Beast, it was the song given to him by Simon Cowell. Otherwise, they would not have allowed him to sing another song since, it is taped and can be edited. There is a lot of speculation but, most of it is wrong.

Maybe we were not too amazed with this song because we have heard this before from MP. Hearing a song rendered for the first time definitely gets a different reaction. This is what I think happened. Simon Cowell made it seem that the contestant Marcelito Pomoy had the song choice when it was Simon Cowell and his team who actually, chose it. The reason is to give the appearance that contestants can choose their songs. A lot of these shows are scripted and designed for maximum audience viewers. Any controversy helps the show. I do not see anything wrong with singing Beauty and the Beast as his voice is both male and female. Not all songs can be sang as a duet. Hope Marcelito Pomoy still wins but, even if he does not, being on AGT and exposed to tens of millions, his singing career got a huge boost internationally. God Bless him and his family.

I just have to clarify that what Marcelito said in his prior video was that he actually knows the song BUT didn't feel it as a song worthy of a talent competition. Fact is, I agree with him on that. Talent competitions, specially singing competitions, here in the Phiilippines are quite different. For song choices, contestants tend to pick ones that they are totally comfortable with BUT also that, which for certain, would bring the house down, so to speak. This song "Beauty and the Beast" (though a wonderful song) just does not have that so called "Ooomph!" factor. If Marcelito was indeed allowed to submit his own choices for the AGT GFinals, he most definitely would not include this one on his selection. I have to say though that this rendition of his is the best he ever did for this song.

There’s a rumor Marcelito was asked to come in the US to again re-record another song for the finals, which is Beauty and the Beast. The original song he sang in the recorded finals last October is a different song which was chosen by Simon. Don’t know why all of the sudden they decided not to air it, and asked him to re-record another song, which now appears as the final song. Maybe because of backlash? Hmm, help me come up a logical explanation on that. The other thing, this video was released not from AGT, but leaked most likely by an AGT staff based on the quality of the video. So now, if on Monday, AGT will air the original final performance recorded in October, that will be such a scandal.

For all you know, Marcelito is a versatile performer. I heard him sang a Chinese song in a female voice and he is also a comedian. I watched a video where he did beatboxing too... From what I have understood with the recent upload of Marcelito is, they (musician) submitted list of different songs to Simon for approval. From there, Marcelito will choose which song he will sing. It so happened that there were songs that he doesn’t have the time to practice and probably memorize that’s why he chose Beauty and the Beast (thinking it’s part of the list) because this is the one he knows already. Technically, Marcelito was given the chance to choose and he just chose the one he knows already and maybe it was just not the one that he prepared that made him feel bad initially.
