In case no one let you know Marcelito's story~ Marcelito's father was incarcerated and, at age 7, his mother abandoned him on the poverty ridden streets of a city in The Philippines. Marcelito would sing to comfort himself while afraid and alone. He would clean chicken coups for coins to survive. The chickens were his first audiences as he sang to them while he worked. With all of this, marcelito remained kind, gentle and humble. The prayer, although not written for him, is his childhood prayer - for God to find him a safe place and wisdom in surviving. He has had absolutely no vocal training and is self taught. He can sing all genres of music, male and female voices and in 6 languages. Marcelito is an activist for the poor and abandoned. He is a true inspiration.

From the age of seven Marcelito was an orphan and raised himself on the street. Unlike Dimash who had many years of professional vocal training, Marcelito did not....self trained. Not only is he an amazing artist, he is incredibly kind and humble. He is very much loved by his fans around the world. If you think that’s amazing, then you’ll be more amazed to learn that he was self-taught, with no singing or voice lesson at all. He was from a poor background and was even living in the street when he was younger. He is a very humble and very generous guy. You can check out some of the thing he is doing in his own KZbin channel. Thank you for reacting to his performance of “The Prayer” by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli. If you will compare the original version with his performance, you’ll notice that he actually sang it in a higher note than the original.
