Yes, we are very proud of Marcelito Pomoy for his god given talent. I think it was God's will to give him this talent because Marcelito suffered as a child. He grew up in the streets of the Philippines searching for his family and he used to sing to himself as he falls asleep. He discovered his dual talent at the age of 18 and was encouraged to join a singing contest "Philippines Got Talent" (I think) that perhaps it would help him locate his family which it did! He won that singing contest then a couple years ago he came to the U.S. to compete at "America's Got Talent" and he placed 4th place (which became a big debate; people were angry that he did not get the first place because after all who can sing with dual voices? Marcelito is very humble, he's famous but he doesn't let it get to his head. He's finally found his family, he got married and had a child; his life is complete!

He has never had singing lessons and was homeless at age 7 living on the streets of the Phillipines. He did small jobs to earn money for food and slept on the streets. He worked at a poultry farm and fed the chickens and would sing to them. He has a phenomenal background. He can sing in 7 or 8 languages that he can't speak in but can sing perfectly in them. lol God gave him an awesome ability to mimic any singers voice and tone. I just love listening to him - his voice soothes my soul and makes me feel so good. I am glad you have found him - he now has some singing engagements in the U.S. (covid hopefully won't stop these performances like it did in 2020) He performed on America's Got Talent - The Champions in 2019/2020. He became really popular after that and I was looking forward to his tour but then they were cancelled because of the covid. Enjoy your journey discoverinng all of his talents!

He was trained as a small child by his classically trained parents. From the age of 7, he was homeless and sung for money. He honed his skills himself self from then on.

@@Demi-St0rm he was never trained by anybody. His mother left them for the big city when his father was incarcerated. He was just two years old back then and the third among four siblings. The neighbors found out they were alone so all four of them was brought to jail to live with his father. When the father was freed due to sickness he was adopted by one policeman. When he was seven years old he found out he was just adopted so he ran away to look for his real parents and siblings. So he just slept in the streets. Check out his appearance at the Ellen de Generes show before AGT the champions so you will know more about his background. Watch until the end as she had a surprise for him. It was Dimash who was classically trained by professional musical parents

Wish Bus is a radio station in the Philippines who invites singers to sing live. All performances on Wish are done live. They don't change much, hence some flat notes as you observed. In the Philippines singing is just like our mental health medicine, when we are stress, depress, or having anxiety, we just sing and sing, untill we are comfortable again, you know the fact that Philippines have many typhoon's every year and it give us so much problem, but when music, and songs play our smiles got back again. The weather affect the emotion of the people, if you can observe the way they put their heart and feeling to the songs that they sing, you can see there is a pain that turns into inspiration.

I knew you would change your mind once you hear the Andrea Bocelli's part. I first watched him sing this song exactly 2 years ago when I took a holiday back to the Philippines and it blew me away. Neither two languages he speaks, homeless and a self taught talented singer. He competed at the AGT Champions but missed out. You should check it out. Loved your very honest reaction. This was a good version to pick. The excerpt he did on AGT was much shorter than this. Background (as commonly reported)... Marcelito's mom disappeared, and his dad was incarcerated, so he spent a good share of his childhood on the streets. One comfort was singing along with music on the radio or whatever. Perhaps, when his voice changed, he kept singing along to the female songs too, and therefore never lost his high range. Just my theory. His native language is Tagalog. He's singing Italian phonetically. (But native Italian speaker reactors say that he's just as understandable as Bocelli.) In fact, the English is semi-phonetic too. There's a version of this vid where he speaks at the beginning, and his non-singing English is heavily accented. On stage at AGT, his wife sort of answered the Judges' questions for him. And, he's sitting down here, so he's sacrificing about 30% of his lung capacity versus standing. Maybe give him a 13 out of 10? He also covered Celine's "The Power of Love" on The Wish Bus. This video had over 45 million views last time I saw lol. Yes you spoke too soon, this is live after all. The more you react to Marcelito you will hear his story, he used to live on the streets and taught himself to sing. He is amazing and a very humble guy. He is singing in two languages he doesn't speak, he speaks a little English but isn't very comfortable speaking it. This video is around 5ish years old and reactors were getting either millions or hundreds of thousands views at the time. He has never had vocal lessons. Marcelito is well known for his duets
