I think I’m finally convinced to pick up Firebourne! I’ve heard you and Elle talk about it so much that I don’t think I can resist anymore ☺️ Also, I’m hoping to start the Farseer trilogy soon and I loved Simone St Jame’s other book, The Sun Down Motel!

OMG i don't want to overhype Fireborne but I think you'll love it too! Yay for Robin Hobb!!! I've heard great things about the sun down motel, I definitely want to read more Simone St James books now and that one is on my list!

I like your concept of pausing a book versus making it a permanent DNF. Very helpful! I paused a book recently, and I plan on getting back to it eventually.
@BedtimeBookworm3 жыл бұрын
Glad it was helpful! Some people treat their DNFs like a paused book, but I like having a distinction personally! 🤷🏻♀️

Hi Jade! Great wrap up! My favourite book of March was The Path of Daggers. I average around 1.5 WoT books a month atm. Robin Hobb is high on my list to read next for sure.

Thanks!! Oh yay, Wheel of time!! You're getting close to the end now, so exciting! Robin Hobb is definitely different from stormlight and WoT, but I hope you love her stuff too!

Fireborne is on my TBR since I heard almost every booktuber I watch completely LOVE it! And I'm so glad you liked Ship of Magic! That was the weakest of the trilogy in my opinion, so if you already fell in love with the series so early on, you're going to love the other two. 😍
@BedtimeBookworm3 жыл бұрын
I know at least one person who didn't love it LOL, I think the romance was TOO slow burn for her. OOh excited to hear ship of magic was the weakest in the trilogy, I'm hoping to start mad ship very soon!

Fireborne sounds really interesting! It's on my TBR but I'll be waiting a while to read it since I hate starting series that aren't finished yet.
@BedtimeBookworm3 жыл бұрын
I also hate starting unfinished series so I don't blame you for waiting! Hope you enjoy it when you get to it though!

I'm so glad you ended up loving Ship of Magic 🥰, even though I have, by this point, pretty much given up on the whole Realm of the Elderlings series and I am super bummed about it 😥 I picked up the Farseer Trilogy only because I wanted to read the Liveship Traders and was super excited to start it. I mean, a character focused pirate story with a female protagonist, tropical setting _and_ a good dose of mystery? What's not to like, am I right?! Oh well... Characters... characters are exactly what's not to like 😫 A female MC who's condescending to everyone except to her own precious ship _and_ will call her own sister a slut and feel proud about herself for saying it (boy, do I not like violence against women, but I was totally rooting for violence against her in that scene - Hobb, what have you done to me?! 😅), a pirate captain with near to zero charisma (what is even the point of an uncharismatic pirate captain, I ask?!) and a creepy kid, to name a few! I cannot understand how anyone can like any of those chars 😑 and as the time passes I have less and less desire to pick it back up and spend time with those awful and uninteresting people again 😅 Argh! The mystery in that book seems so juicy, but I want to chuck all those chars overboard all the time 🤬 Where are awesome chars like Lady Patience & Verity?! 😭 Sigh... Can a very character driven reader read a trilogy purely for the mystery?! Probably not... Sorry for venting 😅 but I feel so conflicted about that book and everyone (except for Michael Knipp) seems to be raving about it and I just can't understand why?! How can anyone actually _like_ Althea is something I don't think I can understand 😅
@BedtimeBookworm3 жыл бұрын
Hahaha, vent away!! Those are all totally valid feelings LOL. I agree the pirate captain has no charisma lol, didn't like him much. I did enjoy Althea though even though she could be frustrating. I really loved both Wintrow and... Oh shoot, the other guy character that was a sailor, totally blanking on his name haha. But yes, if you are character driven reader and don't like the characters I could see that being a problem LOL.

Too bad Wolf and the Whale wasn't amazing. I love indigenous and Inuit stories but I don't think I'd love this one. I might still try it one day

Yeah... I'm really unsure if you would like it LOL
