Mackey's scratch built Hinkley jet boat on Poppleton Creek Park lake on Sunday, 3/24/2024. After several adjustments to the ballast and trim weight, the boat now sits properly on the water. However the maneuvering, turning and reversing remain an issue. Adding to that is an issue with water leaking from the jet drive unit assembly during operation. Note, the jet drive assembly is sealed from the factory and not serviceable.
In just 5 minutes of run time, a significant amount of water entered the hull. The work continues.
