Its about depression and so many other complex emotions all thrown in to a fantastic cast of characters with great visuals and symbolism. Its not really about shogi idk how shogi is played because u dont need to. Highly recomend. My favourite anime series atm.

Without giving to much. It's basically a show about a kid living on his own and alone he has a talent for shogi. He's depressed and sort of an unimotional zombie till one day he meets people(s) who bring him back to the world of the living and finds that life isn't so bad. This ED sort of hints at this. It goes from being black and grey to seeing the world in color(s). If you've ever seen "Your Lie in April" its sort of a repesentation of that but instead of music it's shogi. I've seen the 1st season and I cannot wait to season 2. Though I watch in Dub so I gotta wait a bit. But if you want a heartwarming slice of life anime I totally recommend this.
