The USA have some wonderful military bands. Just as I wrote that they band did a bizarre change of tempo at about 1.39. Most odd.

It’s all fun and games until you’re stuck playing French horn on this piece😭

Which version is this? It’s different than the one I know and have taught a few times.

I was wondering the same! I’ve played the one that starts off with two piccolos with minimal other voices and haven’t heard it anywhere else. Wonder if a recording exists?
@Ryanthegamer5432 жыл бұрын
the one you’re referring to is probably “March of the Belgian paratroopers.” the one being performed is March of the Belgian parachutists

My high school band just played it for my town’s elementary school. This is nearly the same version as the version we played. Just a few different countermelodies.

This seems a little fast, but very clean as always

You are right, the slower version is the most impressive one. Greetings from Brussels, Belgium, where one of my successive music teachers was Mr Leemans himself !

I'm listening to it at 1.25x because I think it's too slow, actually! (Better than most recordings of Le Boudin, which might as well be lullabies!)
@adambrennan2512 Жыл бұрын
Why so fast? Do you know what these paratroopers looked like going out to their planes? Great playing, poor example of style.
