What stood out in my month of March is I decided to read several "childhood classics" that I hadn't read since third grade, and there were so many surprises in reading them as an adult. Like, Little House in the Big Woods is racist, and Where the Red Fern Grows is gruesome in its depictions of injury and death of both a child and of animals. It was really hard to handle. But I ended up loving The Secret Garden. On the grown up side, I reread A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, which I hadn't read in over 10 years, and it was just as good as the first time, but I didn't cry as much this time around. Still 5 stars.

March was a terrible reading month for me, but I celebrated my birthday. I had Strike the Zither on my shelf since its release, and your review made me more curious to pick it up sooner than later.

Fatima in the Dead Djinn universe is one of my favorite characters ever. A Dead Djinn in Cairo was one of my favorite reads last year, and I loved the narration of the audio book. (I loved the novel, too, but especially loved that short story.)

She's so great!! I may or may not be getting ready to dive back in with her soon 👀

Great wrap up! If it's easier for you, you should definitely continue filming in this broken up way! I'm so interested in Strike the Zither now, I'll have to see if my library has it. My favourite thing I read in March was Braiding Sweetgrass, which is quite unusual because I don't normally prefer nonfiction even if I appreciate it, if that makes sense. I tried to read this book before but my hold ran out before I could finish it and I'm soooo glad I finally got to pick it up again, it had a massive impact on me.

So glad you got a chance to finally finish _Braiding Sweetgrass_ ! It's truly a phenomenal book. And Dr. Wall Kimmerer also announced her next release, so I can't wait for that!!

@@perpetualpages that's such good news (since I immediately read Gathering Moss afterwards and loved that too) and I had no idea! Thanks for sharing!

I have What Moves the Dead but haven't read it yet. I didn't realize the character was trans. Thanks for another great wrap up!

It didn't feel that chaotic but maybe that's because I was able to listen to this and didn't have to rely on the video. But I always think that it doesn't matter as long as the message comes across. And honestly I'm really tempted to pick up organ meat by now :')

Haha, no that makes sense! I appreciate the feedback that the message at least remains seamless even in this format ♥ And I won't tell you whether or not you should read _Organ Meats_ but I will say 😈😈😈
