On the second beat of the first exercise, do you play as fast possible? Is that what the marking means
@aero-jworkshops57295 жыл бұрын
Amelia no that’s just a roll, meaning you let the stick bounce twice in your hand and then the other hand. So I’m slow motion it would be R l r l Rr ll rr ll R l r l rr ll rr ll rr ll rr ll and So on
@TAROLEANDO5 жыл бұрын
Amelia well this is a late reply, but they are 32nd notes. So it just means to play a double stroke roll for 1 beat. That’s the notation used in percussion for 32nd note rolls. Hope you figured all that by now. Keep on drumming 🥁✌🏼

Si estuviera chido, aquí ay una compañía que está empezando a subir videos en inglés. Se llaman the drumlins blueprint. De dónde es usted?

OK THIS IS A SNARE WARM UP NOT A TENOR WARM UP
@TAROLEANDO5 жыл бұрын
Delilah Smith that’s how it’s written in the sheet music though. There are 3 different drum parts. Essentially every tenor warmup should be played well on one drum before you start adding arounds. The sheet music I have doesn’t have any arounds but the cool thing is you can add them once you learn it on one drum. 🥁✌🏼

@coltonkataras24937 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure about anyone else but I think you meant to make the title snare warm up, because this is all for snare not tenor.
@TAROLEANDO7 жыл бұрын
At the school where I was teaching at this was their band warm up. The sheet music had the tenor part in one drum. It’s almost the same as the snare part, with some variations in some of the accents. I played it on a single pad and left it the way it was in the sheet music, suggesting to everyone to come up with their own arounds. What do you play and where?
@marionavarro60435 жыл бұрын
Regardless...this is a very good warmup. Tenor drum warmups 9/10 times are the exact same rhythm as the snare drum. And you should always practice anything meant for a tenor drum on one drum first to master the rhythm, sticking, tempo, and dynamics. These are just my two cents. (UCLA Drumline, Tenor Drummer 2015-2017) Good stuff man @Taroleando
@TAROLEANDO5 жыл бұрын
Yes sir. That’s the rule of thumb for anything you play on tenors. You have to be able to master it on one drum first. These are older videos I’ve posted to help put a HS drumline I was teaching at. Since then I’ve settled more for my niche and focused more on the style I play here in LA. Where do you drum or teach at?
@marionavarro60435 жыл бұрын
@@TAROLEANDO I actually graduated last year. I moved back home to San Bernardino/Riverside area and I currently work with a Banda sinaloense as their tarolero. I work full time as an EMT-- but Saturdays are reserved for any gigs with the Banda. I was considering teaching at my local high school but unfortunately their program is non existent due to budget cuts. Its cool to know... that there's other taroleros (you) who are also marching drum literate. Usually most drummers I meet in the Banda scene are musicians only by ear and have no reading abilities whatsoever.

That’s cool man, that you continue do do what you love. A big reason why I started this channel was to share my knowledge with others and incorporate all I’ve learned in marching percussion. It’s a different style but it has a lot of things you can apply to Banda. I’m still learning a lot as I go which, but I love the process. What Banda are you gigging with right now? I know a few guys from the Riverside area.
