Anyone trying to justify BCU getting any L last night is pretty laughable. BCU sounded WAY better, was louder, more powerful, and had the best field show compared to everyone else in attendance.

BCU may have had a clean performance but they leave a lot desired in the stands. They need a "book" with up dated tunes because it's the same ol same ol with them. They shouldn't even have to practice those songs at this point. BCU gets the "L" here for obvious reasons.

They way you're talking like the same students are marching since BCU began playing those songs. Remember, each band gets new student each band season. Old songs or not, they still sounded better than Talladega. It takes more than playing every song loud be a good band. That's the lesson that BCU Talladega in this head to head.

I love the fact that BCU sticks to what they are known for and playing with full n balanced sound even against cranking bands. TC is nice also, don't see why everyone hates them so much. I would say just work on control and tempo but other then that yall are a powerhouse and aren't to be fucked with. MY OPINION I'm going give it to BCU.

Okay I agree to and I'm still in high school. I've been accepted to TC. I currently cheer, and I'm on my schools basketball dance team. I'm switching back to dance but idk if TC dance team is what I want?? Are they good? I barely find up to date videos of them?? I'm use to AAMU, Southern U, and ASU dancers.

This wasn't a competition at all in my opinion, BCU won that stand battle without even trying. It's doesn't matter to me that they played the same songs we know them for year and year out. BCU could have played the ALPHABETS and still won this stand battle because the one thing they showed Talladega is that it takes much more to be a good marching band than just being loud on every song. Talladega has only gotten the hype they've gotten because of how loud they are, not because of how good they are. Now that they have a few years under their belt, some of the hype is wearing off.

BCU is one of the schools that don't really believe in stand battles because they believe that you do your recruitment from what you put out on the field. There's alot of bands that sound good in the stands but don't sound to good on the field. Stand battles to me are overrated because now and days people based the success of programs by who is the loudest versus, who is musically sound. That's whats killing the high school programs now. Everyone wants to be the loudest instead of being fundamentally sound.

It's funny that the only argument you swack folks can come up with is song selection but never mention things like sound quality, dynamics, tone, phrasing… you know things that make you a BAND!! Last time I checked SOUND (something that no band including some PWI's, is touching BCU in) is what made win a battle, not the fact you can play the newest song on the radio but I digress….

Not a fan of Dega but at least they bring freshness and entertainment in the stands. BCU's "book" is redundant and simple, it's the same songs year end and out. Coookman is a field band and Dega is a stand band. It is what it is.

Cookman fried them quick. they turned up the radio and blasted the first song as to say match my sound... You can't match the sound then there's no reason we should step outside the box. Technically wise there was never a battle. it's like a great white shark vs a killer whale. do you know that killer whales eat great white sharks? well watch this video again and you'll see what I'm talking about. Even still I had to work that weekend and it was a good effort by TC. BCU has been straight jacketing bands for as long as I can remember so for you to even stand in there was a feat.

BCU has the upper hand because they strive for a balance and tone. They get loud, but keep it under control. TC on the other hand is decent, but not great. I'm just trying to get over the fact, that TC has 10 Bass Drums!
