Peter was the only Brady kid who didn't make fun of Jan and he seemed deeply hurt on her behalf when they laughed at her at the party . Always thought Peter had the best heart of all the kids

Back in Catholic grade school at lunch, one kid was teasing or chiding another student and then pulled the wig off her head....which she wore because of chemo treatments. One teacher, Mrs. McDonald witnessed this and went off on the whole lunchroom. She was absolutely livid about what this one kid did, shouting her admonishments for quite a while.

I always hated it when teachers would take out what one or two kids did on the whole class. I remember sometimes we had to write sentences that we wouldn't do this or that when we hadn't been the one to do it.

I fell that teacher should have pulled that student aside and had a talk with him/ her about their actions which were hurtful to the other student. But teachers did lots of things that I thought were unfair one teacher that I had would make condescending remarks about your projects or grades in front of the entire class. Another would compare you to your siblings (if she had of them previously ) and let you know your sibling was either a pleasure or not to have in class in front of everyone. . I’ve also saw this behavior in the workforce as well one employee quit because of someone else actions all because this one employee was constantly running her mouth and she never knew when to shut up. The very next day HR and other managers got involved and held a meeting with the other employees and inform them of the situation and then proceeded to tell them that they lost a very good hard working employee and if this ever happens again (the first person who caused trouble got a warning) the next troublemaker with face termination.

This occurred in the early 1970s when using guilt, fear, shame and humiliation were common methods of getting kids to conform and to stifle sometimes impulsive, thoughtless actions and reactions. I'm sure these two kids were scarred by such a public spectacle, but there must be better ways to get a point across to children than by watching a teacher having a meltdown like that. I wasn't even involved---just a few tables away and the whole scene is etched in my permanent memory.

@@msr1116 Yes I came from that era as well and to see teachers lose it over the actions of one student was ridiculous, there was one time a student did something wrong on the playground during our lunch hr witnessed by another teacher, then followed the student back to our class and not so much as saying hello screamed at the student and called him STUPID in front of the entire class of about 20 other students leaving everyone including our teacher at a loss for words and I still remember it to this day, and having no idea what this kid did because I was on the other side of the playground when it happened .

@@marwatson7408 those incidents should never have happened, however, today the exact opposite happens in schools all the time: no discipline at all. The pendulum has swung to the opposite of the past. We need a reset.

As a professional tailor, I finally see it's hilarious how needless Alice's busywork is. The dress is already altered, hemmed, and pressed. Yet she is miming/removing (invisible) pins and hand-sewing the side seam with a non-existant needle and thread! One thing is realistic, though. We are taught to never put straight pins in the mouth because it's dangerous and unsanitary, but we all do it!

Fun fact: As clothing styles change, so do wig stands! In the 60's, wig heads had flat or pointed "faces" like we see here. Women would often paint on the blank canvas with their makeup and pin their false eyelashes on the head to preview the look. Later, wig heads became molded with human features and continue to be sold as auch to this day. But one thing remains consustent. Wig heads are purposefully made smaller than human heads. This is to not stretch out the wig while it is being stored! So never style a wig on a Styrofoam wig stand. She has a pea-head!

Well, I've been educated because no woman in my family, to my knowledge, ever wore a wig, so I had no clue about proper storage. I do know is a synthetic hair wig not only had an unrealistic texture but also came in shades much too flat to pass for real hair with highlights and undertones. I could often spot one from some distance away.

Don't be so over dramatic. Take a closer look. The door was already partially open. Had she been naked, she would have had the door closed. All Mr. Brady did was open the door the rest of the way so he could enter. And he DID have 'authority' over her. He was her step father but whole premise of the series was that the kids were not treated as steps of the respective spouses but rather like their own children.

They used to be very popular at one point. I remember in department stores (like K-mart) they had a wig section and women (like my mom and her best friend) would try on wigs while we kids would roam the store.
