For anyone confused about the music being made up of more sounds than one guitar, there’s audio equipment (the peddles a lot of people use) that loops a couple seconds, creating the layering in some parts. Still counts, though, and he was strumming with alternate hands in other parts. Honestly it would’ve been significantly easier to stick to just the basic guitar without adding the layers (I’m pretty certain he composed this prior to being on the court, I imagine he probably would’ve done the pedals as well if not walking around and performing). There was very little looping and all of it was him. That talent and skill, honed by evident dedication and practice, is something that is truly incredible. It can’t be put into words tbh

The concept of multitrack was pioneered by no other than the legendary Les Paul himself. Les Paul was experimenting with multitracking and asked AMPEX to make an 8-track tape machine. They produced one in 1954. It's kinda crazy that folks are now multitracking aka layering live while in the middle of giving a performance! I wished they showed this guy's feet when setting up the loops. Great stuff!

absolutely mesmerizing! as someone who plays percussive fingerstyle guitar, what Marcin does is absolutely insane. Not only because of the hard techniques, the fast tempo, but because of how meticulously PERFECTLY CLEAN it is!!! People perhaps don't realize how hard is it to: 1. practice it enough to be good enough to perform. 2. Overcome all the uncertainties and nervousness in a live environment (not the same as playing in your bedroom). 3. Make almost NO mistake at all. 4. Be CLEAN AF. 5. Have all these extra fancy techniques and "showing-offs" while still allowing the audience to connect with the music that THEY KNOW. 6.On top of all this, STANDING UP to play + smile + have all kinds of cool movements to actually PERFORM for a huge audience and be ENTERTAINING. Honestly, if someone has done one of these successfully, they'd appreciate how much hard work Marcin has put into this. He is a natural. A world class guitarist.
@Inquiringmind0
@Inquiringmind0 4 ай бұрын
Want to know something crazy? Marcin only practices like 4 hours per day. Yes, 4 hours. When I found this out I couldn't believe it. I had assumed that someone with this level of playing, at this young age, meant that he must be practicing 16 hours a day from like age 5, and have crazy level discipline. Nope. He's started playing at 10, he's like 23 now, so he's only been playing for 13 years, practices maximum 4 hours per day, and tries to avoid repetition for repetition's sake. He said that his technique for practicing is to only focus on whatever he is weakest at. This is a brilliant way to do it. This means that whenever he practices, there is always something that can be improved, and so he always improves, never plateaus.

I could be wrong, but there could be some backtracks pre-recorded of him playing some of the effects while he plays LIVE most of the melodies. He is VERY talented and he can do it, but the quality of the audio is just TOO balanced as he moves around and when you work with live microphones, you know that sometimes some Movements will not be as balanced because they would move away from the microphone’s “peak capture”. But like I said (I could be wrong). He is definitely very skilled.

It's easier since he is looping the music. A looper (or most likely just recording of the parts he is not playing live). Would need 3 guitarists to make it sound correct. Still tremendously difficult to play a lot of what was played! (trying to read your comment, but I think I need to study for 5 more years first lol )

I love that you play for yourself. It doesn't matter if a billion people are watching or not. You love playing your instrument and it shows.

That dude in the white shirt who starts to get up to go get a beer or something and the immediately turns around, sits down, and sits there with his jaw on the floor for the rest of the performance. Yeah man...that's all of us right there with ya. Incredible Marcin! Congratulations on a great performance!

There's good, there's excellent, there's virtuoso, and there's what I call 'SCARY GOOD' Marcin is amazing!! There's not a lot of guitarists who can pull off a Led Zep riff and meld it into their song so perfectly. This kid has the 'connection' with his ACOUSTIC that Eddice Van Halen had with his electric.
