Did you not see the whole video he clearly said that he won’t show or tell all the details due to a possibility of losing that job. He also said that not every swe does the same thing. Other than that he showed us exactly what he does almost everyday.

@@Kaji-999 If he cannot show us some minor details, i understand. But this was way too general. It's basically nothing. There's really no point to this video and no need to even make it of there's barely anything to explain.

Software engineers design, develop, and maintain software applications, systems, and platforms. They write code, debug, test, and deploy software to meet specific requirements and solve problems for businesses, organizations, or users. They often work collaboratively with other engineers, designers, and stakeholders to create efficient and effective solutions.

Hey Marco, I just had a chance to view this. It is such a great video. I never really knew what a software engineer does. You explained it beautifully. You kept it at a high level so folks like me could understand it. I know it’s a lot more complicated than what you presented but it gave us an idea as to what you do. Great job. 👍👍💯

HI MArcos! I am a full time Nurse here in the UK and I am looking into changing career as a software engineer. At the beginning I wanted to enroll in a university to take comsci to get more opportunities in the digital world. I came across this Digital Bootcamp funded by the government for those seeking jobs in the digital world and changing career path. I just want to know if you think this is worth it? As a software engineer, do some of them discriminate people who just studied in bootcamps or self study than those who took a degree in the digital field?

whats it like to be a game developer, same as what you described, or different? was that ever something you considered?
@marcosricopeng
@marcosricopeng Жыл бұрын
Game developers are still in the world of software engineering so many things will overlap. I think the biggest difference is that games themselves don't work like traditional apps / websites and often don't use the same frameworks. But that can all be learned on the job as long as you have a good foundation on how to code and computer science theory :)

Hey Marc, I'm a rising junior in college planning to become a software architect once I spend some years initially as a software developer. I came across a video on KZbin a few days ago where they recommended Python, AWS, and Linux as a set of new languages to become a software engineer in 2022. I was wondering if these would be safe skills to go for if my ultimate goal is to become a software architect, and I plan to join a company as a software developer intern next year. Although I'm expected to learn Java and C++ over next few years in college. I know software architect is still a long way to go for me, but still as I have to start somewhere, at least as I'm planning to get an internship next year as a Soft Engr/Developer, do you think I should go for the above set of skills before applying for an internship? Nice vid btw as always!
@marcosricopeng
@marcosricopeng Жыл бұрын
Honestly, I would worry less about what languages you need to learn and focus more on concept (i.e. data structures, computer architecture, databases, concurrency / parallelisms, etc). Out of college, most recruiters want cs students that know how to think, not code in a specific language or know a specific framework, as one can always learn that on the job :)
