Recently read Livy. Didn't realize you were making these long videos based on like, 3 or 4 paragraphs before reading him. Congratulations on interpreting the hell out of such a small source material, i didn't know how confused the story was until you pointed it out >_

It's what separates real historians from some of the wannabe regurgitators on youtube. that's my hot take and i won't retract it

Most of my videos have a little bit more source material and I usually don't find anything quite as intriguingly strange as Livy's claim about Centenius.

Petition for you and Sean to cover Italian Generals of WW2 sometime, basically gonna be Giovanni Messe as an S, Rodolfo Graziani as a B or C and then the rest would be D-F but I’d still be here for it. Would be wildly entertaining to hear about Italian failures
@ThersitestheHistorian9 ай бұрын
That could be an interesting stream. It would be hard to gauge many of their performances given how thoroughly outclassed their armies were and how many of their operations were in a support role.
@aidanmcnary-hickey67789 ай бұрын
You guys also could maybe expand it to just cover Italian generals of the era, so take into account their performances in Ethiopia and the Spanish Civil War. Mostly I wanna see how many names I recognize from playing Italy in HOI4 cause they are my favorite country in the game

Kinda curious about when your next Byzantine Emperor video will be? It's been six months since the last one and frankly I'm super curious of your analysis of Manzikert, so I'm desperately waiting to hear what you have to say!

Not sure. I have all of the material for Theodora, so that one won't take long. Constantine IX is a fairly difficult figure to cover, so I am still doing research and also trying to make sense of the Great Schism. I should have a decent amount of free time come May and June, so that is a likely timeframe for Constantine IX and Theodora.

So he's saying the guy fought bravely not because he was brave but because he was afraid afraid of failure. Wow livvy is an a******. That's a hell of a spin I'll give him that

I'd be interested in another presidential deep dive series like on Jefferson or Roosevelt

I am open to more of those. My top priorities right now are LBJ and Woodrow Wilson, but a lot of it will depend on finding the personnel.

@ThersitestheHistorian9 ай бұрын
Curio has been in the works for a while. It will be a fairly lengthy video and I am hoping to put it out relatively soon.
