Thanks and I agree. Some supporters feel ND’s AD had his hands tied with there being some much early, vocal and widespread support for Freeman. Fans, former players that never played for Freeman(!!!) former Freeman players, former legendary Irish and NFL greats, recruits and of course a clear majority of current players, support staff AND current assistant coaches. The key assistants (we are talking guys who owe their ND jobs to Brian Kelly and at least 1 who’s been with him for over a decade) passed on LSU job offers for HUGE money to stay at ND and with this 35 year old, Marcus Freeman, with no head coaching experience. The 2022 and 2023 recruiting classes are currently ranked 5th and 2nd, respectively and include several commits that would usually not give ND a 2nd look. Yes sir, there’s something different about him and ND just couldn’t take a risk of passing and watching him possibly go on to dominate success elsewhere. His ceiling could be that high.
