Design comment on the mk 1; I'd do the grille surround and tail lights chrome edge in Bronze to go with the wheels. So the mk 1 would be me choice. Xtremely tasteful builds both of them 👍

Thanks for the video. Here in Australia, I had both a mk1 and a four door RS2000 mk 2. I had more fun in the mk1. It was orange, probably why. The price of the MST is nuts. I would buy a Caterham with a Duratech, keeping with the Ford theme. With the mk2 MST, I reckon the RS Cosworth Compomotive wheels will look awesome. Cheers from Sydney.

I really like listening to you talk but I didn't subscribe because your whole channel only talks about one subject - Escorts! You are also very informative I like how you build up the suspense before giving us the price! Starting at 185,000 is triple ridiculous and outrageous! Has anybody asked them to justify why they charge such stratospheric prices?! Especially when, at those prices you could get so many better cars!

I am a Ford Escort fan and I only came across this site today. I was hoping the price for a very basic MST model without all the bells and whistles would be nearer £100k - because genuine mint RS2000s are going for those prices. But £185k is gulpingly steep. I would guess the reason for the price is based on the cost of labour - always the most expensive element in any business. How many hours have the MST cars taken in extensive research, meticulous design, the production of so many individual parts, careful construction, prototyping, finishing, testing etc etc. Staffing costs on those elements must have been huge. If you're running a business that majors on unique and bespoke designs - then high end companies in any sector would always charge premium prices - from suits, to perfumes, from dining to houses. Sadly, for the like of us mere mortals, these prices of these stunning cars are simply out of reach more's the pity 😞

If budget was no issue I'd ask mst to make me a modern 1300e, in terms of styling I'd love all the extra chrome, vinyl roof, wooden trim, more sound deadening ......... a modern mk1 1300e with improved performance would be amazing

MST cars are light years better than that Borehamwood thing! People keep saying it's licenced by Ford? The only input they've put in. Is allowing certain VIN numbers to be used! For me. The MST RS2000 model on those minilite style wheels. But I would put in a YB cossie motor! As for the prices? First one is 290k? With NOTHING special about it? Better builds at most Fords shows in my opinion! 180k plus for MST stuff. Still lorry loads of dough and out of the reach of most. But they are built right with high end materials. Just wait for 6 numbers and I'll order one!

I love the Yellow Evo X. Unfortunately here down under our dollar is only worth 50cents at the moment. It would end up closer to $400,000 plus freight and then a 33% luxury car tax on top of that. I love both mk1 and mk2 BUT, if they share anything other than their basic silhouette with an ACTUAL mk1/2 then they would be walloped by an Alfasud in real world handling etc, by the average guy on the street. im one of the biggest ford fans there is, but old fords are WAY overrated and overpriced.they were crap in period. just better than the equivalent offerings to drive.
