We hope you ignore the rude comments and ridiculous suggestions from people who have never renovated a house in Europe. We're in France, are serial renovators (stone houses), and have found the renovation of a timber house in Sweden to be fascinating. Thanks for sharing your process, and good luck from Brittany!

I am in love with the house. Sweden has to be a beauty place. To see such a house with earthen materials, has to be a joy to renovate. The bicycles in particular are such a time capsule along with all the newspapers. Enjoying the video.

Swedish countryside looks like such a beautiful tranquil place. I think the people here in England have forgotten what it feels like to have a slow paced, relaxed way of life. That lifestyle here comes at a heavy price, like most things. I often say to friends and family I was born at the wrong time in the wrong country. If I wasn't trapped in the modern 100mph system of work sleep repeat(i resist it as much as I can), I think I'd like to live in Sweden for the nature, camping and clean air😁🍺

Hello from Estonia! 👋 Sutch a nice house you have got there! I'm watching with interest your progres of restoring it. I have a question. What are you adding on 2:05:40 to your plaster on stove top and why? Never seen anything like that added while repairing stoves. Looks like some pieces of metal? Very interesting! 😊
@llightshope828312 күн бұрын
Love the house, love the video. :) I was a little confused about the way you did the kitchen floor. The beams looked in beautiful condition, and very well supported on the stones. I didn't understand why you didn't put a vapor barrier down over the dirt, and it looked like pressed fiberboard of some kind that you used as a base for the insulation. Would this not be subject to moisture over time, over an open dirt base? Also, I was very confused by the brackets used to join the floor beams to the foundation beams; they weren't joist hangers, and it seems with the weight of the heavy joist beams, quite thick/heavy flooring and furniture, they would be quite likely to twist or fail, even with architectural screws. If you could explain this to me, I'd appreciate it. I actually expected you to replace at least the end stones under the floor beams.

The windows are low for kitchen tops that is about 90cm, the flooring i would leave the stones fix pipes and put concrete then put insulator mat and the timber floor last.
@mzay16087 ай бұрын
(Bathroom and kitchen designer here) It's a NO for the en suite bathroom. 1m width is a very tight squeeze. Of course, it depends on the layout, but you must be careful because that wall also has a sloped ceiling on one side.Think how you are going to use the shower, the sink or WC. I will suggest 1.2m- 1.4m For the kitchen, keep in mind that your windows are quite low, and normal kitchen base cabinets stand at 89cm( without the worktop), and if you add the worktop (usually 2-3cm on top of that. You might have to change/raise the window where the sink would be or you will end up with a gap behind.
