Marcy thank you so much for sharing. My great grandparents settled their. my mom and her family were all born there. my uncles and their sons worked at the mine and retired from their they worked hard. when they got home delicious dinner was served everything homemade . Wives would cater to them i think its still like that now. When my mom & her sisters where in their late teens they moved to California and they stayed. So i loved visiting Silver my best memories growing up. So all my uncles have passed all my cousins are all still there. Thanks for sharing and bringing back my best memories. Your mom is beautiful and truly a New Mexico woman 🥳❣️

Hi Marcy, I lived in Silver City from 1979-1982 with my grandparents Robert & Bette Everard @. 206 23rd St. I had been missing New Mexican cuisine since living back in California. So glad I found your channel. Was really surprised you knew about Silver City. My grandfather was also a lifelong resident of Silver City. His father George Everard started a blacksmith shop located at 600 W Market Street around 1900. I could go on and on. Just wanted to tell you I love your channel and plan to try more of your recipes. My husband and I are at the same stage in life. My daughter wants us to move to Albuquerque, but at her age (24), there's no telling if she'll stay there for good, where as the rest of my family is in southern New Mexico. If you do end up choosing Silver City, I know a sweet house that's for sale, with a beautiful backyard that has fruit trees; apple, pear & peach.

Born in Clovis, but I claim Silver City, my home town. Haven't been back since 1995, but you know what they say. "You can take the girl out of NM, but you can't take the NM out of the girl. I've lived primarily in California, but it doesn't even come close to my roots in NM. When Marcy and her mom talked about Santa Rita, my dad was a crane operator there and died at the company clinic in 1952. So Santa Rita is more than a mine to me, it is a memorial.
