It sounds like she is not a good fit for any genre of music. One does not grow in popularity by burning bridges and alienating a large group of people. I've never heard of her. People don't listen to music out of spite, they listen for the joy of music. I enjoy music from all genres.

Not sure why this is even new worthy. There are artists categorized by one genre but sometimes they perform a song that fits in another. Doesn't matter where she releases her songs, pop, country, R&B.... if the country charts like it they will adapt it. Now though since she feels the need to give her reasons why she made the move, going beyond just, country doesn't align with her values anymore and calling the industry and people derogatory names, I doubt now country fans will accept her music so best for her to find another customer base.

Good…maybe now country music will get more country !!! It’s been a trend the last decade or so. All these pop singers that probably can’t make it in the pop sphere for whatever reason become country singers because they’re from the south and think the path would be easier. Then…they get some traction and start bashing the fans because they don’t agree with them politically. I think she’s a great singer…but I also think she’s a toxic person. If her leaving makes the scene a little more Luke Combs and less FGL…country music will be better off for it.
