I personally make a list of things I need and/or want before I get the money to purchase it. I've been doing that for years and it trained me to just buy what's on my list and when it's not on the list I don't even think about it. It definitely makes life simpler 😊

I am 58 years old, and I just learned many of these things embracing minimalism 6 years ago. I was raised in a different time, and time changes things. Technology has replaced many items we had to buy for use, but so many people walk around as mental hoarders because of information overload. Something I too have to keep ‘in check’. You have done well. Had I embraced simplification of my life many years ago, I can hardly imagine what my life might look like today. Be Simple, Live Simple ❤

For me, part of intentional living isn’t just letting things go but adding things like gardening that might not be simple but bring me joy. I’m just careful to not add too much - when there’s too much “noise” and superficial stuff, It dilutes the things that bring the most love, joy and value. Great video and would absolutely LOVE an example of a simplified/minimal iPhone! Thank you for valuable, authentic content!❤️

These words are so incredibly kind and uplifting. Thanks for saying that. So happy to share my purpose, but please know...it's not meant to be a "holier than thou" response. I'm broken, I fail every single day but my purpose is what helps me reprioritize, get back up and refocus on the big picture. My purpose: to serve the Lord and glorify Him with my life - the way I treat others, love my husband, care for myself, work, fail, forgive, care for my home, etc. I came to this after simplifying and writing in my gratitude journal for several months(that may not be your route, but it definitely was mine). I started to realize that all I have and all that I am has nothing to do with me. It's all been given to me by the Lord. And every time I went through seasons of anger, feeling lost, and discontent, it was because I was focusing on being my own hero....life was all about me and how I could save myself (buying happiness, depending on others' perception of me, overworking to prove myself, etc). So it became pretty clear where I needed to shift. Again, I fail daily but every time I repeat "Serve the Lord and worship Him with _____(responding to my children, cleaning a messy home, being patient, completing mundane tasks, etc), it feels as if things immediately fall back into place.

This video was quite resonating. Lately I had this realization that I have more stuff than I require and use, especially clothes and footwear (thank god I’m not into makeup and accessories). In order to refrain myself from not buying more than required, this thought came into my mind that I will not buy anything if I’m not gonna use it multiple times, and I have limited time and money and will not spend on materials which are going to make me miserable when I’ll see them in my wardrobe. Surprisingly, I have also stopped wasting food when I realized that I can take second helping if required. Planning groceries is so important and my mum needs to understand this because usually either she buys something that’s not needed or forgets to buy what’s needed. I have told her multiple times but no use. Also, keeping things back in the place helps a lot. You don’t need to take out special time to keep the space clean if everything’s at their own assigned place, saves a lot of time. Overconsumption of information is really stressing sometimes, and I’m cutting down my KZbin because of this (and I don’t use any other platforms of social media, good for me!). Thank you for making this video❤

Another tip for less stress with kids Know your stuff will get messed up and broken, buy furniture that is more sturdy than beautiful. We got giving an ugly but sturdy farm table we striped it and let the kids splatter paint it and hand print it with neon colors over a black painted top then we put a gloss finishing coat on it and it looks amazing and unique. And couches and chairs we get used we always throw blankets over them easier to clean and hide stains.

Hey Susan, I'm so happy to share my purpose, but please know...it's not meant to be a "holier than thou" response. Thanks for asking

Would love to know where you purchased your couch from- we’ve been looking for months and it’s a nightmare to find something high quality, with performance materials for pets/family!
