It took me awhile to actually realize how much they actually changed about the original song this is based while focusing on how exactly they got Kurt's style of music video where, it's not really deep more over you have to process what's actually happening in the video itself

I think it just does what other shows running this long do to keep the characters the age they are... Forward their life. Eventually, if it's long enough, you'll see the Simpsons spending their 18/20s in the 2000-2010s as well.

It’s usually the opposite but I think in the 90s Homer was too good for her and shouldn’t have taken her back. I know I’ll get blaster with all the horrible things Homer has done but this is probably why she keeps taking HIM back, because he took her back after she hurt him so much.

Time and again has proven that Homer is actually a really good musician and due to his dolt-like nature nobody has acknowleged he's actually a savant. He's even created award winning art sculptures. I think the conspiracy theroy is Homer is the driving force behind the marriage and his kids creativity ... lisa is above average, Bart's schemes borderline on genius (hell his rival is a criminal mastermind and he's like 10 ... also he's good at drums) Maggie took down all of Springfields mafia with non-leathal shots!
