Not as much of as a disaster as last Nat government! Crumbling hospital buildings, parts of Dunedin Hospital out of bounds due to asbestos, rain water leaks. Funding run down for years, no salary increases over their 3 terms. Things aren’t great now, but look at the situations that Nats left behind!

I have done locum work all over the country and computer systems in the EDs and wards for patient management range from abysmal ( Invercargill) to really good (Ashburton, bay of islands, Kaitaia). This was an opportunity to take the very best programmes and use them countrywide! My understanding is that they are still going to get all the different systems to talk to each other! What’s waste of an opportunity!!

We would do better in this area (more funding would be available) if it wasn't for the payments to Iwi for Treaty settlements in recent years. Also no tax is paid by Iwi "business" organizations. Less money, so services such as health for the other 83%, suffers. This is incompetence government. Labour must go along with the Waitangi Tribunal. There are 160 ethnicities in New Zealand. Is there need to separately consider this people in this area. Health services are just that health services for all New Zealanders. Some might require more services due to "need". Health services based upon ethnicity is racist. By definition.

Give it a rest. IMPB’s make up 0.2% of the total annual tax intake. So your fixation on them says more about you. What works for Māori works for everyone. It’s been that way for generations. Time to stop thinking singularly. That’s the mindset that stifles innovation and creativity. We will need to out think our way out of the crises we’re in, not blame brown people.

Labour government did right thing by amalgamating DHBs into 1 entity. NZ is too small to have 20 health entities. Common sense to have 1 system. Yes, new system isn’t where it needs to be yet, but combining 20 separate systems into 1 was never going to be simple & happen overnight

Worked above her at Counties Manukau DHB when she became head of Pacific Health, utter disaster that was She absolutely hates Caucasians. We pulled her up on bringing her children to the office as they were disturbing staff, running around the space. She was reprimanded & we didn't see the children again (She was reminded that she was paid more than enough to cover Childcare or even a Nanny) Since then she was championed by Labour appointees to the CMDHB Board, namely Mark Gosche the long time Marxist/Socialist/Unionist activist & they drove Middlemore Hospital & the Suoerclinic in Rewa into the ground. Leftism is a moral failure turned into victimhood by Politicians. Get a Haircut, & get a real Job

Nact keep saying that it was wrong of Labour to reform health system during a pandemic. Even though they continually downplayed the pandemic- nothing to see here approach, no health impact supposedly! Watch out what they’ll do if elected. We’ll be back to 20 separate DHBs, as they’ll want to have each with a highly paid CEO

Ive never voted nat in my life but this govt have not decreased the amount of high payed and average inc beurocratic office based positions , they have increased them across all social services particularly in the new health system. So, there are now more of those overpaid positions than there was under the old healthboards which were obvi broken. There has been a move away from local based power toward centralised power under this govt. They have sold it to us as for the greater good, in realuty there is a push for power to have greater control to implement ideological governing that was not voted for amongst any good intent. Big govt is never for the people in practice. People get lost in big systems and have less ability to challenge or democratic power to change the way systems work. This is not a phenomena that is only happening in nz. It is playing out across the western world.
