Unusual to get to hear Margo speak for so long. I would definitely love to hear more from her. I hope she continues to speak up for wimmyn, and to encourage wimmyn to enter the music industry.

I challenge Margo to write at least half of the band’s future lyrics. We need her perspective. I started writing at 49. It’s never too late!

Maybe not half, it's awful hard to change a band dynamic after many years, especially when the main writer is your brother. Plus, Michael's lyrics have always been pretty open to a female perspective, leading to the suspicion Margo has already had significant input on the songs; maybe Michael should think about officially crediting Margo as co author on certain songs when she does contribute. Inside the band I suspect there's already a fairly firm idea of what each individual member is capable of doing. Certainly it would be ridiculous to demand that Michael start taking lead vocals on half the songs. It would be equally ridiculous to arbitrarily demand that Margo begin writing half the songs when historically she has expressed no desire to do so. It's a band AND it's a family. I'm sure if Margo has strong desire to take active role in songwriting they will figure out something to accommodate that.

You know it would be one thing if I was hearing this from the late great Dolores O’Riordan who represented practically 1/2 of the creative songwriting team. What did this woman ever do other than just stand there and sing? The things are the way they are because the music industry is filled everywhere across the spectrum with females who do nothing but sing and have almost no songwriting contribution. She is not even getting to the heart of the matter. Music industry is style over substance which means they are catapulting females simply for being beautiful with marginal or average abilities. There’s only the occasional Adele that slips through. When your face and body is the basis of you achieving stardom what are the chances you’re really going to develop the skills of a producer or anything else in the business? She has watched this go on all around her entire career but why isn’t she talking about it now?

A great many extremely talented singers are not and were not song writers. It doesn't make them less. A great many song writers are not singers, and their words would likely go unheard without people to sing them. Cowboy Junkies are beautiful. In an industry full of auto-tuned, boring, cookie cutter singers, they stand out and they shine. Michael is a brilliant musician and song writer, but without Margo to bring those stories to life, what do you think this band would sound like? T.D. 111, clearly an insecure male put out by a woman speaking up and out, go back down to your parents' basement and think about this for a while.
