Shame on him for taking shots at such a beautiful woman. I, like many of us, grew up watching her for years. Amazing woman. RIP Margot

Yeah, and good for Margot for also defending Lois Lane- never heard anyone call this awesome ace reporter a "dumb bunny."

I'd never seen this interview before. I'm shocked at how rude Wogan was. He was usually professional and courteous to his guests. He must have been in a bad mood that day, because he was never normally like this. Kidder was very gracious to sit through it. She would have been entitled to walk out.

I must say this interviewer Terry Wogan has to be one of the most offensive chaps I've seen in quite awhile - practically every time Margot Kidder says something, this bloke seems to pounce out with a negative spin on it. Margot Kidder is a beautiful and charming person whose only "fault" is that she's honest and expects decency from others too. Love you Margot, RIP.

I think it was a different time. I remember watching these interviews as a kid thinking it was nicey nicey. I have seen some of the interviews since and he was quite passive aggressive. There was one with kylie minogue about 89 and he was quite rude to her I think the guests had to take the heat back then.

This guy is a jerk. Insulting her constantly. Her comments about women in film being pushed aside, ignored, or called a pain to work with for sticking up for themselves are true and he couldn't care less

Wow, he talks at her like he thinks she's a joke, right from the start. She takes it in such stride. On the positive side, she seems more relaxed and herself here than she does in other interviews around this time, specifically the Letterman ones.

This interview was wrecked by a host that was openly rude and insulting from the very start. It didn't seem like they knew each other, but for whatever reason, he absolutely showed her no respect or courtesy! He totally lacked professionalism in trying to be comical by belittling his guest, though he was not at all comical. In short, he was distractingly unlikeable! Margot Kidder on the other hand remained calm, courteous, professional, and showed more intelligence by merely ignoring his rude criticisms.

Terry at his worst. She didn't deserve that. Margot was integral to Superman just as Chris was.

Margot was in a short lived t.v. series with James Garner "Nichols". What a doll! I read that she did have a lot of problems during her life....

Every notice that Margot Kidder looks similar to Karen Allen. I think their voices are even more similar.

The host for some reason known only to himself decides to immediately insult the crap out of his guest. She handled it with grace....he's a colossal doofus to put it mildly.

Margot was amazing- with about 20 chances to legitimately take offense, she glides through the interview effortlessly.

Margot Kidder was an excellent actress. But your statement is ignorant as hell...He is just being jovial (that means joking around and casual) to break the ice but I think Americans wouldn't understand and take offence. You guys don't understand humour or sarcasm and use the word "doofus." And just because people in North America don't know other tv presenters or celebrities from overseas doesn't mean that he was unknown, he was one of the most famous tv presenters in Europe. I'm sure SNL is more your thing.

As most people have said, this was a terrible interview. Terry comes across as lacking in class and Margot seems like she couldn't wait to leave at the end. I've got to wonder about the genesis of this interview, though. Let's not forget, that Superman IV hadn't been released at this point (Margot mentions that they were coming to the end of filming) and Cannon inevitably gets mentioned. I wouldn't be surprised if Margot (probably against her wishes) was forced on Terry Wogan by the BBC and Cannon. If that's the case, I can't blame Terry for coming across as dismissive in this interview... After all, Margot didn't really go on there to promote anything that was coming out anytime soon and I'm sure Terry was annoyed that his show was being taken up by a puff piece, when he could be having a guest on with a more pressing issue.

So great to get a real interviewer who kept her on her toes, not the dumbed down American stuff. Probably her best interview.
