I know a guy who told me how he used Bumble dating app to date women for not only free meals and casual sex but with the hopes of using sex and love bombing to secure a home to stay while he was homeless. After her paying for the dates and allowing him come over to her home after a few dates within a month, he ended up living off her for about the next 1.5 - 2 yrs... and ended up getting her pregnant and having to leave because of domestic violence. Crazy part is him telling me this while trying to date me. 4:00 I've lived in NYC all of my life. It's the same sh*t. Her biggest mistake is limiting her dating preference - it's also very diverse here I once went on a date where the guy wanted to go to this ratchet as$ club (for a first date 🙄) with a grossly-overpriced entrance cost he clearly could barely afford..he wanted flex and wait on a long line for VIP because he couldn't pay an additional "get in early" price to this sh*t place (they had nerve, and we were outside in cold weather for about an hour with me wearing a light dress for a lounge, where he originally said we were going), but bought a fifth of vodka to drink before the club to avoid paying for drinks and had the nerve to try to start drinking it while he drove us there. It was obvious that I was cold and didn't want to stay on line at this [ghetto-fabulous, only someone who didn't know better wouldn't know this place was trash] venue, but I have a feeling he was somewhat of a regular and wanted to go there to show off. After the bouncer at the ghetto trap searched me, she told me I couldn't take a pen into their fine, high-class (*sarcasm) establishment for safety reasons (wtf) and I left for my own safety reasons. I had to go back to his questionable neighborhood by train to get my vehicle and was harassed and followed as I walked in a dress and heels to the parking lot. But it was a good thing I left the club because afterwards I read the reviews and it was a dangerous, inexplicably expensive sh*thole that didn't even use glass dishware because so many fights broke out there. He was the super-insecure, dating out-of-his-league and beyond his means type, and a simple dinner and movie would've been fine but he wanted to pretend he had what he didn't. I certainly didn't reach out and I was glad to never to hear from him again. I have other stories unfortunately - that's the first that came to mind

French men aren’t too bad. Some approached me whilst I was studying and living in Paris, but I declined because I live in London and wasn’t interested in dating at the time. They’re also very smart and philosophical, so that’s perfect for me. Yes, some of them, I am convinced, are acting out revenge fantasies on current women for past women that hurt them. So they just treat them any way they'll allow themselves to be treated. I basically had a guy I dated all but admit this. He had serious issues with rejection and I am so glad I no longer entertain his bullshit. But that was a great learning experience to make me super selective about what I will tolerate from men nowadays. They KNOW what they are doing most of the time.

I always get picked up on first dates, but I'll usually talk to a guy for several weeks before I agree to meet up with him. If a guy is patient and respectful of your boundaries (they don't get angry or pushy when you say you want to wait), they'll usually be patient and respectful in person as well.
