I remember reading about this concert on Wikipedia when I first became a Mariah fan and imagining what she sounded like and what the setlist was. There was no footage available forever and then one day this concert was uploaded to KZbin. Amazing stuff. lol. Thank you for reacting!

It's rare that I can watch 90 mins of shaky cam footage of a show and not lose interest at all, but I was hooked from the start - great concert! It's insane that no full show was properly recorded that year

WOW the voice during this period... and this tour is scary good. Especially underrated because it is very unknown for whatever reason. There aren´t good videos in general. It is absolutely crazy these people like her or Whitney doing EVERYTHING already at 23 or 24 years old. Absolutely crazy. I really like your reflections John!

I was probably 16 or so and what I would have given to have been able to attend these concerts. Especially when she was in NYC cause she would always go a lil harder & extra for her hometown fans. Now , as a lamb from the start, U r correct in this 93-96 era , her Voice was Intergalactic. Her Tone /clarity and Effortlessness of Hitting notes and Effortlessly Gliding thru the vocal scale w/o a 2nd thought or apprehension was what Cemented her as the Songbird Supreme.

This concert was PERFECTION when it comes to both vocals and improvisation! The fact that she had the same level of otherworldly vocals throughout this difficult setlist speaks a lot about her stamina too. Please react to Hark the Herald Angels Sing and Silent Night, live in 1994, the vocals were pure epicness! If you reacted to both in Patreon then please do Hark the Herald Angels Sing in 1991, it's a different and amazing rendition. Also Forever in Rotterdam 1996 ( there's a remastered version) the song is one of her most difficult because it's filled with crazy transitions and mid/high belts which requires excellent breath control and she did it amazingly!

Great reaction, Johnny. Interestingly enough, this was her first tour. It looks like there were 7 shows on the tour, this being one of the best nights. Most of the other nights she was actually quite sick. (Have a listen to some other clips from this tour from other nights for context). She was heavily promoting the album at the time so I'm sure she was doing way too much, not resting enough, making money for lots of people, dealing with a tumultuous relationship, and singing a demanding setlist. (You'll discover this in her Rainbow tour later on, though her agility and tone are what carried her through that tour.) The great thing about Mariah is that as much as you've reacted to so far there's still so much more in store for you. Have a wonderful week!

Honestly i kinda hate that this wasn't properly recorded because this is her absolute prime to me, it will always upset me lol, but her amazing talent still shines through, love that you got to watch it / react to it 👍

Johnny, I love Mariah too, but just like I sent you Chant'e, I've got another performance that's gonna blow you away. I hope you haven't seen it! She's from your hometown. Her name is "RAYE". This is "LIVE" at Royal Albert Hall. The song is "Oscar Winning Tears". You must have heard it...if not you are gonna flip over this whole performance... Especially the opening!
