I was glad to see this about Mariah Carey, because I found out things I was never aware of. I'm not of her generation, she's my son's age,so I never followed her music career, but I do know whenever I did hear her singing, her voice sounded like an angel. But hearing now how she was the only singer, in the 90s,that had a #1 best seller, each year, of that decade, I see now she is a superstar. When her name made news, about a breakdown she had I was concerned for her, because I had seen her as a sweet, lovely young lady. Seeing this tape I see that she was just overworked, and maybe did have some wrong people around her, if she was feeling distrust. But it's good to see she bounced back. She may have helped many people, during that time, who were going through something to see her pull herself back up,inspired them to also. I know for myself, when I was going through something there was one song I saw her singing on KZbin, that was so inspiring for me. I was into gospel songs, and this song was like a gospel song, can't think of the name right now, but I played it many times. So I just want to thank her, and take care of that angelic voice.✌

Hi Cloveice, I share your admiration for Mariah so I thought since you really seemed to talk about a Gospel track you had heard but couldn't place, I'd try and help. The first one that occured to me straight away is 'If Its Over' which is the most gospel I've heard by Mariah, but I will also add in for your listening pleasure some other tracks you should play; 'Everything Fades Away' ____ 'Can't Let Go'_______'Never Forget You'______ 'Do You Think Of Me'______ 'Vision Of Love'____'My All' - great tracks and then your recommendations from KZbin will suggest more, too : ))

Me, again, lol. I viewed all the songs, and they are all just beautiful. My God, how did she get a voice that sounds like a beautiful angel. You can tell in the songs she sings that she's been through it, because they have such feeling to them. I located her song that helped me a lot, "Fly like a bird". When I was going through, I must have played that song 50times, and cried about 25 of those times. It was just touching my spirit, and I could relate to it, and just seemed like something I needed to hear. Yes, indeed God bless Mariah, and you, too, sweetheart. ✌

@@c.calliecoleman1531 wow I'm so happy you listened to them and despite it not being the one I thought, you still found the track. I'm so pleased for you, over here : ) I'd like to share with you what I would say are probably my favourite one's of hers personally since I heard them aged 13 or 14 in 1998. They just blow me away. See, I love her ballady and poigniant stuff, but even now I am still drawn to her more r&b and hip-hop leaning tracks just because she really did fight her on her initial record deal to be free to go in this direction. Some are earlier and so I feel these are where she managed to put her roots down and show she could be more than one genre as an artistè; __'Now that I know' which in my opinion on the surface is about a person, but I think is divinely inspired by love she feels with God, its just a feeling I get. Also a great one___ 'Long Ago'___which came later on but is simply beautiful... it reminds me of the late Aaliyah, my other favourite artistè...look her up if you are inclined. Another hip hop jam she brings so much feeling to is 'Slipping Away' ...but... my personal favourite - SO UNDERRATED nobody ever lists it or anything ... this is the first song where I thought *Wowwww* 'I've Been Thinking About You' Its a jam. Its still my best track by Mariah. Please tell me what you think. I am going to listen to 'Fly like a Bird' now as I dont know if Ive heard it. I spent half the day yesterday bingeing on Mariah Carey interviews, documentaries and promo's on my day off. Shes a fighter. Shes a survivor and she has been through alot. Type in 'Mariah Carey Documentary' and scroll down for 5 or 10 mins and just get the jist of whats out there on her different parts of her life and career. God Bless, and thanks for talking here with me, Cloviece. Its much appreciated. Hope you enjoy! Big Love.

By 2002 Mariah had sung, produced & stacked: - 7 studio albums - 1 movie soundtrack - 1 MTV ep - 1 alt-rock unreleased album - 1 Endless Love duet. Acted in Glitter, married & divorced a monster & was a 🌎 icon. I guess it might seem like a comeback to not have had released ANOTHER album before Charmbracelet, given her UNPRECEDENTED productivity. Only Taylor Swift can match Mariah.

the reason of her breakdown was the breakup with her then BF Luis Miguel. She couldn´t function well because of this. He broke up with her because she broke his heart because she cheated with Eminem who was also in love with her at that time She was young, and like any person made her mistakes. From all this heartache she wrote many songs that you can tell were dedicated to Luis Miguel. Too bad their relationship didn´t work.
