you’re so right her chest voice is truly the most pleasant, powerful, poised, bright but it also has so much depth to it. mariah in my book is the top 3 of the best to ever do it and my favourite female artist along with janet.

Same. It's 2024 and I adore this song. Caught myself sitting in the car for hours just listening to it on repeat. It's so beautiful but in a deeper level that is not heard in music now. And yeah, it's criminal to compare Michael Jackson to Mariah. Although Michael is an all time artist and performer, let's be serious here, mariah was on another dimension than mariah. That woman's voicr especially in her prime was just like supremely beautiful. Something about her voice...as if it's something...idk. Something magical. Like magucal like from Greek mythology stories about beautiful women with beautiful singing voices

It's simple why it wasn't on the Music Box album. Her label boss and the executives thought that the prior album "Emotions" was too R&Bish which led to a dip in album sales compared to the debut. Hence, they wanted a commercial pop album that would appeal to a wider global audience. And here we have Music Box, which ended up being her biggest selling album of her career worldwide. Tommy Mottola and the executives most likely thought that "Do You Think Of Me" was too much R&B and didn't fit with the rest of the album. I bought this song in 1993. It was the B side on the first single "Dreamlover". I've always loved this hidden gem that most people don't really talk about.

The thing you love about her chest voice is that CRY quality it has. Theres an intention crack and a cry/wail that only she can do. It’s sublime.

Perfectly written. One of the few singers "worldwide", if not only, that has a "cry" quality in her tone. Like a wail that is extremely and deeply sublime and beautiful. And that is just level 1 in terms of describing the gift she has. I've read books that goes "in" on her heavenly gift and it is "wow". There's levels to this and the way they describe her singing quality in deeper levels changes your life...

This was. B-side to dreamlover CD Single. Definitely not unreleased but not widely known because it wasn't on the album. But she officially released in 2020 on streaming on her compilation album called The Rarities!

It was released in 93 as a b-side to dreamlover and rereleased in 2020. The reason it wasn’t on the album is because the whole album was whitewashed by her ex abusive husband who was the head of her label
