I think it's obvious consistency is her main struggle, thus, resorting to lipping most of the songs. Even for those little promos, where she sang It's Like That and Circles, she immediately dodges the mid-upper belts. She can't sing most of her songs live anymore and that's something we just have to accept at this point, I guess.

The whistles are too "clean" to be live I'm afraid. The big give away to see when she lips or not is when she looks at the monitors. It tells her what line she is lipping and what line she will sing live.

But if you are going to go on tour and being this huge vocalist that she is, people will expect live vocals, because she doesn’t dance etc. So people will automatically criticize. I love her regardless but this is a little bit too much lipping and also unnecessary at some parts! I still love and support her ❤

@@LifeissuesDLY But we’re in the 2020s not the 1990s, nobody cares if you can sing nowadays as long as the music is good, you can perform and connect with your audience, yes Mariah is known for her voice but like i said its not the 90s anymore, back then people would pay to see Celine Dion, Whitney and Mariah to see if their voices were as good as the studio version, their whole brand was about being these insane vocalist, now people don’t pay to see if Mariah can still do it, they pay to hear the hits and see THEE Mariah Carey, since 2020 Mariah’s shows have been more on the entertainment sides, less focus on the vocals, and you can see that she’s selling tickets way faster than in 2014 to 2019, this residency is 95% sold out, The Butterfly Returns was 80% sold out
