I'm from Brooklyn, NY and so is that guy @0:03. I, and a few friends of mine, would see him almost every day during the summer of '89, at a train station playing that bucket for money. We used to tease the shit out of him. One day, he wasn't at the train station. A whole year went by, we didn't see him. One day, while at the train station, I asked my friend "I wonder what happened to that guy who used to play the bucket for money over there?" (pointing at the spot where he played his bucket at on the train station). Then, one day in 1991, I turned the TV on and this video was playing. My mouth DROPPED when I saw him in the video. I know she wanted more control on her debut album and wish things were different but this is one of those rare moments when the label knew better and how to sell it and sell her to the public if she came out with a strictly ballad type album I dont think she would've broke out mainstream and this video is still fun and the song is catchy but also show cases her voice I wish she embraced this version more.
