I lost my mom in 2007. She died on a heart attack. It was so sudden. She was the only person I have because she was a single mom. She died on Aug 13, when my birthday is Aug 16. It was also just a semester before my college graduation. I thought I couldnt make it. I'm so alone. With no money, no family. I thought I will go crazy. This song helped me big time. That I can make it through everything. Fast forward 13 years later, I was able to graduate on time. I have a high paying job, a career and a family. This song will always remind me on those times and when I look back. I am so grateful that it helped me survived. PS. This is also one of the reason why my favorite flower is sunflower. :)

When you get caught in the rain With nowhere to run When you're distraught and in pain Without anyone When you keep crying out to be saved But nobody comes And you feel so far away That you just can't find your way home You can get there alone It's okay, once you say I can make it through the rain I can stand up once again On my own and I know That I'm strong enough to mend And every time I feel afraid I hold tighter to my faith And I live one more day And I make it through the rain And if you keep falling down Don't you dare give in You will arise safe and sound So keep pressing on steadfastly And you'll find what you need to prevail Once you say I can make it through the rain I can stand up once again On my own and I know That I'm strong enough to mend And every time I feel afraid I hold tighter to my faith And I live one more day And I make it through the rain And when the wind blows As shadows grow close Don't be afraid There's nothing you can't face And should they tell you You'll never pull through Don't hesitate Stand tall and say I can make it through the rain I can stand up once again On my own and I know That I'm strong enough to mend And every time I feel afraid I hold tighter to my faith And I live one more day And I'll make it through the rain I can make it through the rain And stand up once again And I live one more day, and I I can make it through the rain Oh yes, you can You're gonna make it through the rain

THIS SONG SAVE MY LIFE. 6 years ago. I'm a full blown drug addict. I did alot of mistakes. I lost my friends, my job & my family. All I want to do is getting high with my boyfriend. Then one day while I'm in taxi. This song plays. Honestly, during that time. This is my least favorite Mariah Carey Song. But when I heard all the lyrics that time. My tears run down fast. I cried alot. I realized that I'm top far from home. I realized that all of my friends don't like me now because of what happened to me. I realized how far iam from the old me. I'm plain before but I have a complete family & happy friends. I'm so lucky because I hear this song in the right time. Right that moment I went home to my mom's house and she hugged me so tight & my friends also accept me. I realized then that I didnt loose them. I walk away from them. Now, I live a clean life w/o my ex boyfriend. Got a new job and got to know God. So, thanks Mariah! God used you & your songs to save my life.

It’s 2023 and I’m STILL listening to this song. I can remember the day this video was released and to see her bounce back from her “mental-breakdown“-the crap the media put her through was insane! Anyway, I still can remember the day I, myself purchased the CD; I cried like a baby in the parking lot. “MC’s music always brought me so much personal-healing when it was desperately needed. As much as I admire and respect her vocals-it’s her WRITING that is unprecedented; She is an AMAZING songwriter. The depth of vulnerability that she reveals through her carefully-chosen words show that she has a GIFT that has been sent “from above”. One may learn to hit a high note, but to write like like this-you can only receive such a flow -that’s why she’s MARIAH CAREY.

MARIAH is so influential & inspiring. I like Ariana & no shade but I don't see the comparisons in artistry. Mariah gave so much authentic music to her fans as far as relating to such personal trials in her life. This song goes deeper than a song. Mariah wrote this of her Mother's grandparents who did not approve of her mothers marriage to a Black/Venezuelan man. Interracial marriage was not as acceptable as today. Bless you Mariah!! Three months ago, God put this song in my heart. I heard it loud and clear, while i was walking in the rain. I am struggling through tough mental illness, but Jesus helps me a lot. I was just praying before i left my house and i remember not feeling so good that day, and then God put this song in my head while i was walking. I struggled with being suicidal all my life, since childhood, but somehow God always brought me through. God used this song to help me and tell me that i can face anything that comes my way.

Helped me through being bullied from so called friends, raped by awful men, a car accident that wasn’t my fault and dealt with chronic pain, almost killed myself after chronic pain, lost my job due to chronic pain in 2019, 2019 was my worst year ever, and this year 2020 things have been looking up. I ran away from home at 16 and I'm glad I did, I ran to my true love. Fast forward 12 years and we are still together. Married with a child on the way. When you know what you want, you just know. I made it through the rain
