As for me, I would not like going digital. First of all, I don't have such convenient tablet as you and for me it seems more comfortable to print my materials, so my eyes are not strained. And it also seems to me that when I am able to "feel the paper" I remember more. When I don't need some materials, I do not just throw them away, I hang them over to other students who can use it. But nevertheless, I think it's great that you minimize the usage of paper and the damage to the enveroment.

I think that maybe with minimalization for the book part, you could reduce the space by borrowing books from the library or friends, and only buy if you have some favourite series or favourites in general.

I love minimalism. Sometimes we buy hundreds of notebooks but at the end we never finish one...I know it's quite difficult to not buy beautiful stationary when we see it but the point is to take advantage of what we have. I'm now very focused on japanese culture: Marie Kondo, Kakebo methods.. which help us to live happy with few things. In fact, in my youtube channel there's a video in which I explain what is Kakebo method and how to spend money with judgment (spanish but english subtitles).

I usually only print the supplements I absolutely have to read because I concentrate better when I read on paper. All other texts I read digitally. I like to use recycled paper and have been using left over pages from my high school years. I'm currently on my 4th semester going into my 5th

Paper: other than going digital, we can reuse the back side of old printouts for rough work and doodling. Try to use less space on the page or stick to double sided printing. Stationery: my pet peeve. Stick to high quality,long lasting and refillable pens. You won't spend money unnecessarily and you can stick to a budget. Organization tools: try using one system, this way you won't complicate things for yourself. Hope this helps, thanks Mariana! Love from India.

@AskeJones4 жыл бұрын
I totally get you ! In fact it is coud be better in somme occasion to keep buying physical books instead of e-book,for the ones you keep or reuse, because of the pollution and energy needed for the tablet to work and the servers to stock the ebooks you download etc. It's a balance to keep. It's better for the planet to use digital when reading articles and books you only need once, but there is libraries for that too and for ressources you need for a long term, it's less pollutant to use the analogic version. I think those videos explain it well, they may have English subtitles "IDÉE REÇUE #33 : Déchirer du papier c'est détruire l'Amazonie ?" and "Professeur Feuillage - Episode 08 - LA POLLUTION DU WEB". But well decluttering is still something useful. I just thought it could be good to have this information too if you want to had ecology to minimalism :)

If you don’t mind, I would really like to know about your book club, how did you get in, what kind of things you discuss or what to expect from the people in them, etc. Any tips on forming my own book club, deciding on things to read (for me, I like to read in english which is my second language, but most people around me aren’t comfortable with english books, what should I do??) I would love a video about these things :)

I would love to cut back on the amount of paper we use in class, but learning digital isn't as effective for me as when I'm able to really have it in front of me and can annotate my notes like that. I already use paper from primary school where only one side of the paper is used to make notes during class or little lists and that's enough for me right now.

@saraangel66965 жыл бұрын
akshiti goyal i dont know about her, but for me, think that you are getting an annoying thing out of the way first thing in the morning! Also, sleeping well (preferably 8 hours, but never less than 6), having everything packed and ready to go, lay out the clothes of the next day the night before, have something else to look forward to (a cup of coffee, breakfast, less people in the street, the sun of the morning that doesnt burn, walking to class listening to a podcast). And, if everything else fails, just think that this class is a way for getting where you want to be in life. It's for a degree, you need it, and hard work pays off. And it wont last forever, it's just for now

Just hold yourself accountable. When your alarm rings dont snooze it more than once and then just get up and wash your face. Even though the initial getting out of bed is hard when you wash your face and get ready you'll not be sleepy anymore. Try it one day and next morning tell yourself that just like yesterday if I just get out of bed I will not be as sleepy anymore. Sleeping more also helps try to sleep around 7 hours at night or if that isnt possible try sleeping in the afternoon after classes. In my university we get 5% Mark's just for attending classes so that serves as motivation as well haha

I would love to do a whole series on PhD researching/writing, etc... but first I have to be admitted to the PhD program I want to enroll in 😂😂😂 I’m using a laptop stand + Bluetooth keyboard due to a severe neck problem I got a couple of months ago.. my doctor advised me to raise the screen so I’m not looking down for a long amount of time.
