The haunting vocals of this song always give me chills, and reminds me also of when they used it during a montage of driving through the desert in "Thelma and Louise" which couldn't have been more perfect for what was happening at that moment in the story. Thanks for uploading this it was randomly stuck in my head and was nice to find and hear it again! :-)

This is the best Lucy Jordan she has sung yet. A country singer by the name Marie Bottrell made it a big big hit as well. Im so glad I found this one. Ive been looking for yrs. The other versions she sings of this dont do it justice like this one. She is young in this one. Could someone please let me know what the song about. I believe it to be that she overdosed.

Been a long time lover of this song. Thought I related to it. Then my sweet husband gave me the chance to ride through Paris in a sports car. I opted to ditch the car and walk. Seriously evil place to drive. Even worse to passenger. Killed this song a little for me. She would be better off swimming in the stunningly clear waters of Croatia.

I first heard this song some twenty five years ago, and it was a copy on a moscellaneous tape. I neither knew what the title was, nor did I know the author. But the song moved me so much that I kept listening it untill the tape was destroyed. Back then I hardly understood English, but I managed to grab the first sentence of the song. And it's this that allowed me to find / rediscover it. So I can never thank you enough for sharing this. You help me relive my years of early dating when this song was one of my favourite companions.

The morning sun touched lightly on The eyes of Lucy Jordan In a white suburban bedroom In a white suburban town As she lay there 'neath the covers Dreaming of a thousand lovers 'Till the world turned to orange And the room went spinning round At the age of thirty-seven She realised she'd never Ride through Paris in a sports car With the warm wind in her hair So she let the phone keep ringing And she sat there softly singing Little nursery rhymes she'd memorised In her daddy's easy chair Her husband, he's off to work And the kids are off to school And there were, oh, so many ways For her to spend the day She could clean the house for hours Or rearrange the flowers Or run naked through the shady street Screaming all the way At the age of thirty-seven She realised she'd never Ride through Paris in a sports car With the warm wind in her hair So she let the phone keep ringing As she sat there softly singing Pretty nursery rhymes she'd memorised In her daddy's easy chair The evening sun touched gently on The eyes of Lucy Jordan On the roof top where she climbed When all the laughter grew too loud And she bowed and curtsied to the man Who reached and offered her his hand And he led her down to the long white car That waited past the crowd At the age of thirty-seven She knew she'd found forever As she rode along through Paris With the warm wind in her hair
